New Groups

Information from Chris ChaterGroups Co-ordinator

If you are interested in joining any of the proposed new Groups listed below, contact Chris on

[email protected]

Beginners Polish GroupAre you interested learning Polish? The emphasis is on practical language use –

speaking and understanding. There is a facilitator (qualified lecturer) for

this group. It will be small; 8 members only. The Polish word for 'you' changes according to one's gender, so the group

would particularly welcome gentlemen as well as ladies to enable lots of realistic

language practice.

New Book Group The initial meeting of the above group took

place on Tuesday 22nd November. Elaine Neville has agreed to be the facilitator of the Group. If you are interested in joining the

group please contact her on the following email [email protected]

The next meeting is taking place on Monday 16th January 2017 at 1.30pm at the White Lion

Middle Street, Beeston.

A Little Positive Discrimination! The committee are always looking to

improve and expand our U3A and would like to provide more interests groups that would be of greater interest to the men

amongst us.One idea that has been put forward is a

Real Ale Appreciation Group. If you have any thoughts on specific male orientated

interests, we would love to hear from you. Send us your ideas.

Information from Chris ChaterGroups Co-ordinator

If you are interested in joining any of the proposed new Groups

listed, contact Chris on [email protected]

U3A Group Ethos

Please remember that the U3A ethos is about learning with and from its members. Once it is known how many members may be interested in joining a new group, an initial meeting will be arranged to discuss the formation of the

group and way forward. Note that, if no one is willing to lead or be part

of a team, the group will not take place.

successful.

If you have benefited from the

work of our Group Leaders

University ContactsFor some time now, Beeston U3A Committee

have been trying to make contact with

links between our group and the University.

wondered if any of our members have any

contacts within the University that they could

put us in touch with to see if any progress can

be made. If you have a contact, please let

Steve or Richard know on

running their current group. It would be a day event,

probably in Spring 2017.
