When the fullness of the time had come, God

sent forth His Son. Galatians 4:4

God’s providence is absolutely amazing!

Our Messiah was to be of the family of

David and was to be born in Bethlehem

according to Micah 5:2-5. But His chosen

parents lived in Nazareth, 100 miles from

Bethlehem. They were required to go to their

ancestral home for the census. (The purpose

of the census was taxation.) A decree from

Rome required them to go to Bethlehem just

as their Child was about to be born. Can you

imagine what a long, hard journey this had to

be for Mary! When the sacred moment

arrived, the cradle for the Son of God was a

feed-trough for animals. Did you notice,

God made the decree of a pagan empire the

instrument for fulfilling His prophecies?

God is still on His throne! What a wonderful

Savior we have!
