K-4 Christmas Concert

On December 7, all students in Kindergarten

through 4th grade, along with the St. Xavier

Stringers, performed their annual Christmas

concert. All the students dressed up as pilgrim

children or elves. Held in the church , the concert

included songs such as “O Come, O Come

Emmanuel”, “Here We Come A-Caroling”, and

“Silent Night”, where the audience was invited to

sing along. Mrs. Corlett accompanied with the violin

on “O Christmas, Christmas”. The first year students

in Stringers performed traditional Christmas songs

such as “Jingle Bells”, “Jolly Old St. Nicholas”, and

“Dreidle”. Second year Stringers performed “We

Three Kings”, “Up on the Housetop”, “Angels We

Have Heard on High”, and “Hark the Herald Angels

Sing”. Together they played “We Wish You A Merry

Christmas”. All the students seemed to enjoy the

feedback from the audience to all their hard work.

In my opinion, the students did a fantastic job and

should keep up the good work and dedication!

Boy’s Head Coach – Kent Griffin

The boy’s first home game was on December 13, against Word of Life. The

boys lost the game with a score of 55-26. Coach G says ,”It’s a moral victory

and it gives us something to build on, the only way to get better is to play

better teams. They pointed out some weaknesses that we can work on in

practice. We expect teams to have a tougher time of playing us. We feel we

can win our next couple of games.” Good luck in the next game.

Students hold shower for Baby Jesus

A baby shower for Jesus was held on December 16 at Saint Xavier Catholic School.

Students brought wrapped baby items to Mass which were taken up to the altar during the Of-

fertory. After Mass, the gifts were brought back to the school, unwrapped and given to Birthline

a pregnancy resource center that cares for mothers and babies. After students unwrapped the

gifts, they were treated to muffins and juice in the school cafeteria. The school has had its annual

shower for Baby Jesus for more than 20 years.

Zahirah Tanaka carries her gift to place on the altar during Mass.

This year the Yearbook Staff is going to continue the mystery

person mini game. Like last year, it’s a game that anyone can

play as long as you are a student of St. Xavier School.

In this game, anyone has an opportunity to “Guess Who’’

the mystery person is. In addition, if anyone can guess the right

answer, he/she will be able to claim a prize. For more informa-

tion just ask Mrs. Fowler.

Place your guesses in the box that is located in the computer

lab. One winner will be selected at the end of every month.

This person likes to play

sports, read, is very involved

in school, as well as out of

school, and is 5’ 9” tall.
