And suddenly there was with the angel

This is the definition of Christmas: The Creator of the universe sent His only Son toour earth. Christ saw fit to reveal Himself to us in the form of a man. The Father, inall of His wisdom and love, destined the Christ to bear the sins of His people so tha

we would be counted blameless in His eyes and accepted in His presence. Jesus wasborn to bring life. Without His miraculous birth, He could not have lived or died forour sake. This is one of the most important truths in the world. For this reason we

seek to live like Christ. For this reason, we celebrate Christmas.

    Christ is the Savior

In the sixth month the angel Gabrielwas sent from God to a city of Galilee

named Nazareth, to a virgin be-

trothedto a man whose name wasJoseph, of the house of David. And thevirgin's name was Mary. And he cameto her and said, Greetings, O favored

one, the Lord is with you!But shewas greatly troubled at the saying, andtried to discern what sort of greetingthis might be. And the angel said to

her, Do not be afraid, Mary, for you

have found favor with God. And be-hold, you will conceive in your womb

and bear a son, and you shall call hisname Jesus. He will be great and willbe called the Son of the Most High.

And the Lord God will give to him thethrone of his father David, and he willreign over the house of Jacob forever,

and of his kingdom there will be

    no end.

a multitude of the heavenly host praising God saying,

This is a wonderful time of the year for a va-riety of reasons. There is something aboutChristmas time that seems to energize othersto greater caring and a sense of true joy. There does seem to be a sparkle to the season. We need reminding that God has come to

earth wrapped in human flesh. What a con-cept for feeble Man to grasp with exultantoy. The living God cares for us! The fact ofour creation by this God gives to us a dignitythat can not be compared. Glory!

Pray that we will be enabled by the gen-erous kindness of so many to finish thefunding for construction of the newMens Residence, Wagner Hall.

It is such an awesome privilege to beable to care for, teach, express love to

just over 90 men, women and childreneach day.

Ask for wisdom to know the best way tocare for an increasing number of elderly. How can we show to them the love ofChrist Jesus who has provided to themhope? The opportunity that is presentedto us by the retreat of governmental au-thorities is wonderful by scary.

We need to see, amongst our residents, a

moving of the Spirit. Hr must bring asense of seriousness to their lives regard-ing the cost of what they have done. They have done damage to themselvesand to others. They also need to realizethe importance of restitution to societyand especially to other, even to theirfamilies. And, of course, there must al-ways be the presentation and reality of aforgiving and caring Jesus Christ. Maywe be found worthy of such trust.
