DECORATING THE CHURCH Friday, December 23 - 9:45am

We would like to include as many parishioners who are willing and able to help out during the decorating of the Church for Christmas. Please consider volunteering a few hours to make our parish home beautiful. If you are interested please call the parish office.

TREE LIGHTING

“Rise up in splendor, your light has come, the Glory of the Lord shines upon you.”

Last Sunday, the young and the old of our parish community came together to celebrate the third Sunday of Advent by filling the church hall with pure joy! Inspired by a video explaining the meaning of giving, the Light of Jesus was shining in the hearts and minds of those gathered as we decorated ornaments and made Christmas cards for the residents at Lutheran Care. Our teens taught us all how to turn our holidays into holy days by performing a variety of skits and leading us in song. They also led us in prayer as we created a garland of love containing links of Advent promises to perform before Christmas. Donations were also made to the Sisters of Life Ministry and Taking it to the Streets to help those in need. By the end of the afternoon, the snow began to fall and our tree was twinkling in the dark, our hearts were truly filled with the light of Jesus to share as we headed home. Thank you all for sharing our Advent Joy and especially to the Education Committee of our Parish Advisory Council for sponsoring this beautiful event.

This is the last opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation until

MARCH FOR LIFE

January 27, 2017 The March for Life in Washington, DC is scheduled for Friday, January 27, 2017. Buses will leave St. Columba church at 5:00am after a 4:30am Mass on January 27. Price is $35 for adults, $25 for students. All reservations and payments are required by January 20, 2017. For more information or to reserve your seat, call Rich Van Slambrouck at (845) 297-7930 for the St. Mary’s bus, or George Morton at (845) 226-6896 for the St. Columba’s bus. Members of our St. Stanislaus CROSSFFIT Teen club will be traveling to Washington on Thursday evening to attend the Annual Respect Life Youth Rally on Friday morning before the March. This annual event for the teens has been life changing and has inspired many to be defenders of Life. The club, which will be traveling with teens from PTAF Parishes around the Archdiocese, will take the opportunity after the March to see some of the sights of Washington. This is always an amazing pilgrimage for our youth and hope to be able to share this experience with the parish community upon our return.
