Debbie Slade awarded aMinotty Eye Foundation Award

VERO BEACH — The Minotty Eye Foundation Award for the Best Direct Service Employee of the Year for 2011 was awarded to Debbie Slade at the Florida Association of Aging Services Providers conference.

The annual event, the Florida Conference on Aging, was held Aug. 22nd–24th inSt. Petersburg. Slade is employed at NuHope Elder Care Services in Highlands County.

“Debbie Slade has worked with the elders of Highlands County for more than 30 years in both direct care and administrative jobs. During that entire period, she has sought ways to add that ‘little extra’ to the care and support of our seniors,” Ingra Gardner, CEO at NuHope Elder Care Services, said.

Karen Diegle, president of FASP, stated that the Minotty Eye Foundation Award for the Best Direct Service Employee is given to those who have:

• added value to the service being delivered that has benefited the elders served;

• gone above and beyond job requirements to provide customer service and ensure customer satisfaction;

• developed community resources and support to the services being provided;

• and demonstrated a high level of commitment to excellence.

Likewise, Paul V. Minotty, MD, founder and manager of New Vision Eye Center in Vero Beach, was duly impressed by the level of service to elder patients and was pleased to honor Slade’s dedication with this annual award, which he personally presented.

Minotty is a strong supporter of community programs which benefit deserving citizens and persons with special eye care needs.
