SUBJECT: Compiled report on the activity o Solomon Haarlock on planet designateMaraCalyx Expanse

Initial reports rom our agents hidden within the close circle o Rogue TraderSolomon Haarlock report that the f th planet o the star system within theunexplored Calyx Expanse (see attached co-ordinates) indicates traces o structuresconstructed sub-sur ace o planetoid; constructions frst believed to be natural by-products o (now extinct) volcanism, However, investigation and later discoveriesproved this to be alse. The origin o these constructions is unknown, but our agentsrelay the opinion o Haarlocks Savant Magister that they predate not only theImperium, but in all likelihood organic li e in this part o the galaxy. These structures,combined with the radiation rom the systems violent and anomalous sun and veryunusual crystalline mineral deposits, have a pro ound and unpredictable e ect on

the abric o Realspace in the locale o the planet; not only creating fssures though which the energies o the Warp can seep unassisted, but also on localised space-time. A recent expedition into the largest discovered cave system deep belowthe sur ace o the planet has accessed the largest and most unusual structure todate. Haarlock himsel is reported to have completed the last stage o this descentaccompanied only by his trusted Navigator Hilas-Set Nostromo.

On his return, Haarlock seemed very shaken by his experiences (which, given hischaracter, is an extremely noteworthy event) and the navigator Nostromo was

violently distressed as i overcome by ear. Both talked to Haarlocks secret innercircle o seeing the threshold o a twisted labyrinth o possibility; a Blind Tesseractas it was put by Nostromo, although other details I have been unable to ascertain.Haarlock committed his observations, and those o Nostromo, to his personalciphered journals in one o his encrypted Grey Psalters and banned all talk o thestructures beneath the planet be ore ordering an immediate ull withdrawal romthe system. As a fnal note, it is worth mentioning that the name Haarlock hasgiven to the new system in his charts is Mara, originating in this case rom one o the ancient Terran root-tongues o which he is so ond, meaning I believe, hell ordaemon or an evil dream.
