Items of Work
Restoration of approximately 2,800 linear feet of the section of Dead Run that flows through McLean Central Park, Dead Run Stream Valley Park, and adjacent private properties and its tributaries using Natural Channel Design techniques
Restoration of tributary near the tennis courts to stabilize large, unsafe headcut
Replace one pedestrian trail bridge over the tributary which parallels Churchill Drive
Control invasive plants and replant the riparian corridor in excess of Chesapeake Bay Preservation Ordinance requirements

Summary of Construction Timeline
• Notice to proceed expected to be issued to Meadville Land Services, Inc. in February 2018
• Project duration: 410 calendar days (<14 months)
• Special project phasing (next slide)
• 2 year 85% care and replacement warranty on all trees and shrubs effective from date of plant installation

Phasing Requirements
• Project is broken into 3 sections with the intent of limiting overall disturbance at any given time
• Contractor may only begin work in a section (including vegetation clearing and access road setup) upon approval from the County
• Approval to begin a new section will be based on a dedicated construction crew being assigned to complete that section
• Trail management plan required to be submitted by the contractor and approved by the County prior to any work

Dead Run at Dominican Retreat (Segment 1) Timeline
• 1,940 linear feet of restoration with a contract duration of 365 days
• October 10, 2016: Notice to proceed issued
• October 10, 2016 – November, 2016: material submittals, contractor mobilization, erosion and sediment controls installation, access road installation, tree removal
• December 2016 – June 27, 2017: In stream work, site stabilization
• June 27, 2017: Substantial completion awarded to contractor (75 days ahead of schedule)
• July 2017: Demobilization and final site cleanup
• October, 2017: Tree and shrub installation during the fall planting window
