DATES TO REMEMBER Tuesday 22 September Principal Award’s Day PRINCIPAL’S UPDATE Hello to all, COVID-19 Reminders We are all working hard to keep staff and students safe from COVID at school – with the current guidelines for schools mandated by NSW Health and the Department of Education we appreciate your support and compliance with the following procedures: Non-essential adults (including parents) are not permitted on school grounds. This is a great time for your child to show their increasing independence by farewelling them at the gate. Even if your child is late to school please have them walk into the administration building independently. Any other visitors to the school must complete a COVID declaration form. Students are not to come to school if they are unwell (even if they have the mildest flu-like symptoms) Any student who develops symptoms while at school will be sent home (no matter how mild the symptoms are) Students who have displayed flu-like symptoms will need to provide a copy of a negative COVID-19 test result and wait until they are symptom free before returning to school (a screen shot of the negative result is acceptable) Staggered pick up will continue for the foreseeable future. A number of complaints have been made about parents using the bus zone area as a drop off zone – these have been forwarded onto the authorities who will be increasing patrols and issuing fines. Similarly, many parents are crossing their children on either side of the pedestrian crossing – not only is this extremely dangerous it sets a bad example for the students watching. Please do the right thing and use the crossing (even if it adds a few minutes to your afternoon!) Have your Say on our School As part of completing a school wide Situational Analysis we would like you to have your say on the strengths and areas of improvement that impact your child at school. Please take a minute to complete the survey that your child brought home early last week (printed on lemon coloured paper) and return it to the office to go in the drawer to win a prize pack of 10 lunches

PRINCIPAL’S UPDATE Hello to all,

COVID-19 Reminders We are all working hard to keep staff and students safe from COVID at school – with the current guidelines for schools mandated by NSW Health and the Department of Education we appreciate your support and compliance with the following procedures: Non-essential adults (including parents) are not permitted on school

grounds. This is a great time for your child to show their increasing independence by farewelling them at the gate. Even if your child is late to school please have them walk into the administration building independently.

Any other visitors to the school must complete a COVID declaration form.

Students are not to come to school if they are unwell (even if they have the mildest flu-like symptoms)

Any student who develops symptoms while at school will be sent home (no matter how mild the symptoms are)

Students who have displayed flu-like symptoms will need to provide a copy of a negative COVID-19 test result and wait until they are symptom free before returning to school (a screen shot of the negative result is acceptable)

Staggered pick up will continue for the foreseeable future. Please do the right thing and use the crossing (even if it adds a few minutes to your afternoon!)

Have your Say on our School As part of completing a school wide Situational Analysis we would like you to have your say on the strengths and areas of improvement that impact your child at school. Please take a minute to complete the survey that your child brought home early last week (printed on lemon coloured paper) and return it to the office to go in the drawer to win a prize pack of 10 lunches

from the school canteen to the value of $5 each. We extend a very big thank you to those families who have already returned.

Early Arrivals An increasing number of students are arriving to school before supervision commences at 8.30am (sometimes even arriving before 8am). This is not acceptable and must not continue as teachers use this time for lesson preparation and attending meetings. Before School Care is available through Gosford Regional Community Services. Contact them on ph: 4323 7483 or http://www.gosfordcommunity.org.au

Kindergarten Enrolments are Open Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions our Headstart program will not commence in Term 3. Please be assured our Kindergarten enrolments for 2021 are open. It is essential that families wanting to send their child to our wonderful school next year contact the office as soon as possible so that appropriate planning can occur. Part of this process includes us contacting local preschools/day care centres to give us as much time as possible to get to know your cherubs.

Father’s Day Stall Thank you to our P&C volunteers who were able to arrange out Father’s Day Stall while adhering to COVID-19 health standards. I’m sure all of the Dad’s or other special men in our students lives enjoyed the wonderful arrangement of gifts that students were able to purchase to celebrate a very special day.

WEEKLY AWARDS HONOUR CERTIFICATE

An Honour Certificate is awarded when a student has earned ten Certificates of Merit, ten Reading Awards of Excellence, ten Principal’s Awards or a combination. Students may collect their Certificates of Merit, Reading Awards of Excellence and Principal’s Awards over a number of years to earn their Honour Certificate.

I have presented an Honour Certificate to the following student.

Cooper J Congratulations!! Keep up the great work. PRINCIPAL’S AWARDS Just a reminder that the class awards collected for the Principal’s Award must be collected within the one school year. As each class award is used towards a Principal’s Award it is marked on the back. This means that a class award can only be used once towards a Principal’s Award.

The following students have been presented with a Principal’s Award.
