• Online gambling is one of the fastest growing sectors of online activity. In 2008 the UK online gambling market was worth £2.5 billion.
• KPMG estimate that this will increase by some 42% by 2012 bringing the UK market to £3.55 billion and the global market above £20 billion.
• The latest Gambling Commission report suggests that there are almost 4 million online gamblers in the UK – a ten-fold increase in just five years.
