dangerous dogs act v1

Opposing the UK Dangerous Dogs Act 1991
In 1991 the UK government brought the Dangerous Dogs Act into law
At that time the law was widely criticised by many experts in law and dog behaviour
Since the time of its inception recorded dog attacks have increased, not decreased
Was the law effective?
The UK already had legislation called The Dogs Act 1871
As this law had been in use for over 100 years do you think it was fit for the purpose of protecting the public from dog attacks?
Did we really need another law?
Do we want a media driven legal agenda, or do we want our politicians to represent our wishes?
The Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 caused dogs like the one in the picture to become illegal in the UK.
At that time the government had no accurate official statistics about dog attacks, yet they decided to ban Pit Bulls and several other breeds
Now they are looking to extend the list of banned breeds
Will your dog be next?
We are now approaching another election in the UK and the government is again seeking easy vote winners
Another attack on dog owners is likely as dog owners lack political influence
How many breeds will have to be banned as dangerous before we accept the problem lies elsewhere?
At Dangerous Dogs Act .com we are trying to give power back to dog owner by organising to oppose new anti-dog legislation
What is needed is sensible legislation to target the real problem
Sometimes in a democracy telling the truth is politically harmful
The real problem is irresponsible and cruel dog owners that teach their dogs to be vicious for macho reasons
These owners should be punished, not the dogs
Thugs that teach dogs to be vicious are unfortunately still voters
Votes win elections
The government seems to want to avoid telling people the truth in this matter
The problem is not the animals
The problem is the irresponsible and/or cruel owners who teach dogs to attack
The media also often fails to tell the whole story about why dog attacks happen
People vote Dogs cannot Make sure your voice is
heard in defence of your pet
He would defend you if it was needed. Will you do less?
Contact your MP and ask if they intend to support needlessly banning yet more breeds
