Executive Summary

In the frame of Work Package 9 “Dissemination and implementation” task 9.2, PROMISS

committed to develop the project identity and common graphic line for all communication

materials in order to help external stakeholder recognize the project and be aware of its

activities and messages. The creation of the project’s visual identity was linked to the design

and maintenance of a specific project’s website for the project to give visibility to the project

and store its developments.

To do so, AGE Platform Europe (AGE) decided to contract a specialized communication

agency to benefit from technical and graphic support.

Discussions with WP9 partners on preferences and suggestions regarding the visual identity

and the website were held during PROMISS kick-off meeting in Amsterdam, on 6-7 June

2016.

A call for quotation was issued on 27 May 2016 and sent to 17 communication and web-

design agencies. By 6 June 2016, the deadline, AGE had received 8 offers. Based on a

comparison of quality and price of the offers, AGE selected the communication agency called

“double-id” and signed a contract for:

1. The creation of PROMISS visual identity (logo, visual guidelines and templates)

2. The design and technical maintenance of PROMISS website

3. The design and printing of PROMISS leaflet

The design work started on 10 June 2016. While details on the leaflet (3) will be presented in

D38 due in month 12, both the visual identity (1) and the website (2) were ready on time for

Deliverable D46 due for month 4 (31 July 2016), and duly presented hereby; The Deliverable

keeps in mind that the website is a lively platform which will be constantly updated over the

whole duration of the project.

PROMISS visual identity

Visual identity requirements

In the call for quotation, the following requirements for PROMISS visual identity were mentioned:

The logo

A logo should be developed with the aim of creating a visual reference point for the project and enabling quick identification of all PROMISS related materials.

The logo should be suitable for use on printed/non-printed/website materials. It should attract all age groups and citizens to the project, and relate to empowerment of older people.

The logo should be in 1 or 2 colours, and in black and white.

The logo should be appropriate to the project and to the target groups, i.e. policy makers at all levels, universities, SMEs, food companies, public health agencies, civil society groups, older people, health professionals etc.

Particular attention should be putting on avoiding stigmatisation of older persons.

The templates

Using the logo as the reference point, a Power Point template for all PROMISS related presentations should be developed. A Word template will also be developed.

Preparatory work

During the preparatory phase, the communication agency prepared three draft logos to

initiative the discussion:

It was agreed to move forward with the n°1 option (the first on the left), as n°2 and n°3 were considered less adapted to PROMISS activities and objectives.

Final logo

The chosen logo for PROMISS is the following one:

The logo was conceived to reflect the convergence of expertise but also the growth to an

empowered, healthier and happier person. It can be read from different points of view: two

persons linked together, one person rising to become stronger (the line of the person above

is wider than the one of the person below) and the growth of plants to relate with PROMISS

objective to create food concepts that are sustainable and environmental-friendly.

Regarding the colours, it was agreed to choose bolder, stronger colours in order to have a

dynamic visual identity.

A tagline has been added to the logo to remind about the project’s objective and contribute to

the identification of PROMISS among larger audiences: “Nutrition for healthy ageing”.

PROMISS logo is available in several versions:

- Horizontal and vertical

- Colour and grayscale (black and white)

- CYMK and RGB formats, to be used according to the context (web or print)
