H ow d o y ou f e e l ?
Joke of the Month:
How did the
penguin make it’s
house out of ice
cubes?
Igloo-ed them together.
CAMS The club’s activities for the month began with its participation in the March of
Dimes and Kiwanis One Day. During the week preceding the March of Dimes, several
members carried plastic bags and collected donations for research in eliminating con-
genital diseases so that babies everywhere can be born healthy. Members also joined
other Key Club members for the annual Kiwanis One Day, in which they helped refurbish
a local community center. Later in the month, members continued collecting donations
during Eliminate Week. The following weekend, members volunteered at a local fishing
derby and at a local Math Olympiad competition.
For the future, the club has organized a district event with the TreePeople organi-
zation and will aid in the Drought Response Park Tree Care project. Club members are
also excited to attend the first Division Counsel Meeting of the new term with their Lieu-
tenant Governor, Jacob Tran. The club has also been raising funds for the club and for
International Convention by selling various snacks during school. The club hopes to raise
further profits by selling handmade leis at the school’s graduation ceremony. Overall,
CAMS Key Club has had a good start and is looking forward to a great year of service.

E l Segundo Your ESHS key club recently just started their new officer term. The new officers
are trying to adjust to their positions, and we have not have a consecutive meeting
for it is AP week. Our club also had a recent event, El Segundo's Hometown Fair. We
sold THAI TEA BOBA! It was a fun event for everyone, our own Ltg. Jacob visited our
booth. We raised around $200 with a profit of around $150. Our next project is selling
Finals Kit throughout our school during finals week. We decide to make the little
bags of treats next week and we will dedicate this to eliminate week. We will proba-
bly join CAMS on May 24th for the Tree People event to gain community service.
Gardena For the month of April, our club has been extensively working with our local communi-
ty on many service events. We had events at the Nakaoka Center such as serving
dinner to our community volunteers to appreciate there work and helping our local
kids do arts and craft and hunt for eggs during our city's Easter Egg Hunt. Then we
worked at our high school's nearby elementary where we helped work in the conces-
sion stands and give out free goodies to students and their families. We are planning
a lot of fundraisers for the upcoming year as well as preparing for our banquet which
is on May 24th.

This past month and a half has been jam-packed with huge
events. Some of the ones that I attended include the March of
Dimes and the Torrance Fishing Derby. The member who especial-
ly stood out this month was Kadison Hickman, a freshman. He is a
new member to the club, but he has already shown his passion to
volunteer. In the fishing derby event, Kadison was among the first
people to voluntarily help out with the registration booth outside.
He also displayed good character when he spoke to the guests of
the event with care and understanding. Kadison treated everyone
with patience and respect, earning him the recognition as the
Member of the Month of May.
She is always taking advantage of community service
events. Attending everyone she could such as the One
Incredible Family events for Halloween and Easter.
Where she enjoyed making basket full of candies and
toys that will be donated to children. Most of the time
she stays for a long time to volunteer, showing us that
she's committed to give up her time to serve communi-
ty.
Alexis is one of our best members; he has done so much for key club and for his
community. Alexis has demonstrated leadership, hardworking skills and dedication
through our this year during the first semester he had gotten platinum status and he
was the only member from Hawthorne to get that achievement we are so proud to
have him as a member. Luckily we will be able to have him for one more year and
we know he will have another outstanding and hardworking year. We picked Alexis
to be the member of the month because he is one of the few members that does so
much for our club. He is dedicated and woke up so early to be going to our events
this month and he is one of the few who helped out in our day of silence event and
he also went to the earth day event and when we had a social event and a commu-
nity service event on the same day he was one of the few members who went and
actually stayed through the whole time. We are so proud to have Alexis Flores as
our member of the month.
