The Rowan Brothers Tight harmonies and haunting melodies come together over crisp guitar, mandolin, and steel guitar picking Cyprian’s presents Chamber Music from Stanford, 7:30 p.m. Featuring students from the St. Lawrence String Quartet’s acclaimed music program at Stanford University november SF Live Arts presents Latif Bolat, Free lecture: 6:30 p.m., performance: 8 p.m. Turkish musician and Sufi culture scholar Latif Bolat mesmerizes audiences with his mastery of a vast repertoire of Turkish folk music, Sufi devotional songs, classical pieces and sacred ballads that he composed. He employs traditional instruments such as the long-necked flute, the oud, bendir and ney flute. Cyprian’s presents Holcombe Waller, 8 p.m. Singer/songwriter Holcombe Waller returns to San Francisco for a one- evening engagement, bringing songs of intimacy, courage, and stunning virtuosity. With his long-time collaborator, Ben Lands- verk, Waller performs old favorites and brand new songs from the album he’s currently writing. SF Live Arts presents Kathy Kallick Band, 8 p.m. One of the finest traditional bluegrass bands around. Her current single, “Where Is My Little Cabin Home,” claims more blue- grass chart time in the last two years than any other song. Jeanie & Chuck’s Country Roundup Honky tonk and bluegrass on acoustic instruments explore the emotional depths of classic country music NOPNA + ST.
