Setting Up the Device

Turn on the device

Press F7 to access the setup menu

Select F7 for Setup Options

Setting the Date : MM/DD/YY and Enter

Setting the Time : HH/MM and A for AM or P for PM and

Setting the IR Speed : Set at 8 for best results

Select F8 for other setup options

Setting the Idle Out Time: in minutes up to 75

Initial Setup

Sticky Keys : The use of the SHIFT and CTRL keys. When enabled you can press SHIFT and release, and the next letter you press will be capitalized and then returns to lower case.

Initial Setup

Set Key Speed : • Key Delay: refers to the response sped from

when you type a key to when it appears on the screen. 1 being the fastest and 4 being the slowest.

• Key Repeat: refers to the speed of repetition when you hold down a key. 1 being the fastest and 32 being the slowest.

Create a New File

Press the “N” key at the main word processor menu

Enter a file name when prompted

Press ENTER and you are ready to begin

Edit an Existing File

Select the file name from the box on the left side of the screen using the arrow keys

Highlight the correct file

Press ENTER to open the saved document

Save and Exit

When finished with a document press “ESC”

Save file under the current file name by pressing “Y”

Save file under a new name by pressing “F”

Exit program without saving changes by pressing “N”

Spell Check

Spell Check key is located at the bottom left of the keyboard

Misspelled words will appear in the top box

Suggestions will appear in the bottom box

Use QuickKEYS commands to edit and select words

Printing Methods

Printing with an IR Pod: most common method

Printing with USB Cables: alternate method

Printing with IR Pod

Connect the thin rectangular end into the back of the computer

Connect the square-shaped end to the back of the IR Pod

Highlight the desired file on the device

Open a word processing program on the computer

Place the cursor where you wish the file to be inserted on the computer

Place the device on a steady surface Point the IR area on the back of the device

towards the IR Pod that is connected to the computer

Do not move the device while data transfer is taking place otherwise

data will be lost

Press “Send File” key located in the upper right hand corner of the keyboard

You should see the

Printing with USB Cables

Turn the QuickPad on

Connect the thin rectangular end into the computer

Connect the square-shaped end into the back of the QuickPad

Select Text

Hold down the SHIFT key while pressing an arrow key

Left/Right arrows: select one letter at a time

Paste: move cursor to the appropriate area and press CTRL – V
