You will have a time limit per slide to list as many answers as possible.

Your team will receive points for every correct answer.

Prepositional phrases

• Write the prepositional phrase. Then, tell if it is adverbial or adjectival. Both parts must be correct to receive points.

• Write the appositive phrase. Then, tell the noun it is identifying/renaming. Both parts must be correct to receive points.

Participial phrases

• Identify the participle or participial phrase. Then, tell the noun it is describing. Both parts must be correct to receive points.

• Listening to the radio, she heard her favorite dancing song. She was driving to school when, screaming with excitement, she heard it come on the entertaining radio. Having had a troubled morning, she cheered right up because of the outdated tune.

Gerund phrases

• Identify the gerund phrase. Then, tell how it is functioning. Both parts must be correct to receive points. Hint: Do not just say it is acting as a noun since gerunds always act as nouns.

• Having a snow day can sometimes be exciting, but it can also cause confusing schedule changes. For example, the due date for the paragraphs is moving. Ms. Mishriky had a lot of reworking to do. The students celebrated relaxing that day.

Infinitive phrases

• Identify the infinitive phrase. Then, tell how it is functioning (noun and function OR adjective/adverb and word it's describing). All three parts must be correct to receive points.

• To make some money at a young age, a good idea is to walk dogs. To walk dogs can be a lucrative business to venture into around a city. First you will have to create some advertisements. You will also need to drive to the locations. In the end, it will be worth it because it can be a fulfilling task to do.

Instructions:

1. Divide into Teams or use individuals. There can be up to Six teams. The colors are: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Purple.

2. Choose the number of stars required to win. Such as 3, 4, or 5 in a row.

3. Each team or individual is asked a question. If they answer correctly, the teacher will click the star until it changes to that teams color.

4. First team or individual to get the desired number of stars touching wins!

5. Stars can align in rows , columns, or diagonally.
