The CVS Series E is a single port, globe style body with composition or metalseats, and a balanced valve plug. There are two styles of valves available.

• Design “CVS ED” is intended for general control application over a wide variety of temperature and pressure drops.

• The“CVS ET” is utilized in applications requiring low leakage rates.

The flow direction for standard cages is flow down, with the following flowcharacteristics available: linear, quick opening and equal percent.

The end connections are ANSI Class 150, 300 and 600 Raised Face or RingType Joint flanges as per ASME B16.34-1996.

The CVS Series D is a single port, screwed-in metal-seatedglobe style valve with unbalanced post-guided plug and pushdown to close plug action used for high pressure applications.These valves are used in oil and gas production, distributionsystems, and power plants.

These valves are especially useful for throttling or on/offcontrol of liquids or gases. The flow characteristic is equalpercent, and the flow direction is up through the seat ring andpast the valve plug. This valve is available with cast integralflanges, welded flanges, or screwed connections. The valveplug and seat ring can be fitted with tungsten carbide inserts orstellite overlay. The CVS Series 128-PQ Control Valves are suitable for on-off dumpvalve service in oil and gas production applications, in either sweet orsour gas conditions. These valves are also useful for on-off high-pressure control of numerous gasses and liquids, and can be usedwith materials that are viscous or erosive.

This is a single port valve with unbalanced stem-guided valve plug,and push- down-to-close valve plug action. Operated by a Type 128spring-and-diaphragm actuator, the assembly can be operated in anormally open or normally closed application. This setting can bereversed in the field with minimum disruption and no additional parts.

Available in 3 and 4 inch sizes.

Design “H2D” is a single port, globe style body with cage guiding,balanced valve plug, metal seat, and piston rings used to provide theseal between the valve plug and cage. This configuration is used forgeneral applications where tight shutoff is not required.

Design “H5T” is a single port, globe style body with cage guiding,balanced valve plug, metal seat and a pressure assisted spring sealto provide the seal between the valve plug and cage, and is designedfor applications that require low leakage rates.

The flow direction is through the cage openings and out through theseat ring (flow down). Flanged end connections are Raised Face, andRing Type Joint. The three types of flow characteristics available are;quick opening, equal percentage, and linear.

The HPX control valve is a rugged single port high-pressure globevalve, and has metal seats, quick-change trim, and push downto close plug action.

The HPX2 uses a balanced valve plug, and piston rings are usedto provide the seal between the valve plug and cage.

The HPX5 uses a balanced valve plug, and a pressure assistedspring seal to provide the seal between the valve plug and cage.

For standard cages, the flow direction is flow down with thefollowing flow characteristics: equal percentage, modified equalpercent, and linear. The end connections are Class 900 & 1500Raised Face and Ring Type Joint flanges as per ANSI B16.341996

Available in 2, 3, 4, and 6 inch sizesThe CVS V100 Ball Valve design utilizes a standard ball with a triangular shapedwedge formed in it. This design allows for both throttling control and on/offservice used in conjunction with a variety of actuators.

The CVS V100 valve design closes against one of several available ball seals witha shearing action. The CVS V100 is a flangeless design and allows the valve bodyto fit between two existing pipeline flanges. The flow characteristic is modifiedequal percent, with normal (forward) flow into the convex side of the Ball. Bi-directional flow is into either side of the Ball. TCM ball seal, metal ball seal,and flow ring construction can be used in Bi-directional flow.

Typical actuators used; are the pneumatic spring and diaphragm rotary actuator(CVS 1051), and the pneumatic piston rotary actuator (CVS 1061). Theseactuators can be mounted either horizontally or vertically on the right or left-handside viewed from forward flow inlet.

The CVS Series EW valve bodies are single port, globe-stylebodies with cage guiding, clamped seat rings and push-down-to-close valve plug action.

This series features large end connections and expandedinternal flow cavities. The series is available 8 x 6, 10 x 8, 12x 6 and 12 x 8-inch sizes. The first number refers to the linesize, and the second refers to the trim and bonnet size.

There are three body configurations in this design series:

1. Design EWD is intended for general control applications overa wide variety of temperatures and pressure drops. Thisdesign has balanced valve plug with metal-to-metal seating.

2. Design EWS is intended for applications requiring bettershutoff capabilities than those suitable for the EWD. Thisvalve uses an unbalanced valve plug with metal-to-metalseating, or optional metal-to-TFE seating.

3. Design EWT is suitable for applications with stringentshutoff requirements. This valve uses a balanced valve plugwith metal-to-TFE seating, or metal-to-metal seating for usein higher temperatures.

CVS PROCESS INSTRUMENTATION

CVS Controls offers two types of pressure controllers:

• Proportional (CVS 4150)• Proportional Reset (CVS 4160)

The CVS 4150 and 4160 are pneumatic pressure controllers that utilize abourdon tube or bellows for sensing vapor, liquid or gas pressure, and differentialpressure. The CVS controller can be reconfigured from direct, to reverse acting orvice versa without any additional parts.

The CVS pressure controllers offer dependability, toughness, sturdy construction,reliable performance, and accurate service. With regular scheduled maintenance,the pressure controller will provide continuous service for many years.

The CVS 4150 and CVS 4160 Pressure Controller is a weatherproof unit, andcan be either mounted on the yoke of a control valve, wall mounted or panelmounted.

ACTUATORS

CVS offers three styles of actuator. The CVS 657, CVS 667sizes 30-70, and the CVS 1051.

The Series CVS 657 is a direct-acting, spring opposeddiaphragm actuator with a 3-inch maximum travel. Signalpressure supplied to the upper housing chamber forces thestem downward. When the signal pressure is reduced, thecompressive force on the spring moves the stem upward. Ifthe signal pressure should fail, the spring will force the stemin the upward direction providing “fail-open action” for “push-down to close” valves.

The series CVS 667 is a reverse acting, spring opposed,diaphragm actuator with a 3-inch maximum travel. When thesignal pressure increases to the lower diaphragm casing, theactuator stem is forced upward compressing the spring.When the signal pressure is reduced, the spring moves theactuator stem in the downward direction. If the signalpressure should fail, the spring will force the stem in thedownward position providing “fail-closed action” for “pushdown to close” valves.

Both the Series 657 and Series 667 actuators are used forautomatic operation of control valves used in applicationswhere throttling or on/off service is required.

The series CVS 1051 is used for on-off service without apositioner or for throttling service with a positioner. Thestroking time is dependent on the actuator size, rotation,spring rate/compression, supply pressure, and size of supplyline.

CVS PROCESS INSTRUMENTATION

The main application for the CVS 670 Series panel-mounted loading regulator assemblies is in the manualcontrol of pressure to diaphragm control valves. They arealso used as remote pressure loaders for pressure-balanced gas regulators, and the control of gas pressure toburners in refinery tube stills, power plants, and otherprocess furnaces.

The CVS 7970 is a versatile sensor that can be programmed todetect and react to either increasing pressure or decreasingpressure with an adjustable range of 10 to 10,000 PSI (.689 to689.5 Bar). The CVS 7970 is a two position, three-way pilot withuniversal port (H, O, L), automatic reset (spring return) andpressure balance spool.

Each CVS 7970 is a self-contained unit containing necessarycomponents for four different piston arrangements. Parts whichare not installed in your current piston arrangement are kept inan enclosed storage tube. Machined within the piston housing ofthe CVS 7970 is a convenient 1/8” 27 NPT Female processconnection and 1/2” NPT Male process connection.

The CVS 630 HP series consists of a self-operated, high-pressure reducing regulator, and a CVS type 630R reliefvalve. These regulators and relief valves are available ineither spring-loaded or pressure-loaded construction. Theend connections available are 1 or 2 inch NPT.

The CVS 630 HP Regulator is pressure-loaded, and isfurnished without a main regulator spring, and uses aMarsh Bellofram loading regulator Type 50 or Type 39.

The CVS 630R is pressure-loaded, and is furnished with arelief valve spring and utilizes a Marsh Bellofram loadingregulator Type 50 or Type 30.

The CVS Series 18800 Hand Centrifuge offers reliability, durability, andrugged construction. These characteristics make it ideal for field use.

The CVS Hand Centrifuge has a smooth dual gear driven system with a gearratio of 16:1 to assure efficient centrifugal force for S & W (Sediment andWater) testing. The design of the gear ratio and throw of the crank producea smooth, effortless motion with maximum speed and minimum effort.

The crank design provides ample clearance in all directions when the tubeshields and samples are in motion. For rapid and secure attachment tosurfaces, the lugs are serrated, and the clamping screw comes furnishedwith a swivel bearing washer and thumbscrew lever.

The CVS Hand Centrifuge with ordinary care will provide continuous serviceover a long period.

The unique feature of this centrifuge is the square designwith dual lids. This allows four pre-heater pockets to beplaced inside the unit for convenience and better heating.This also allows for easy cleaning.

A hole located in the center of the lids allows the operatorto check speeds using a hand held tachometer.

This machine is designed to accommodate either four shortcone tubes or four pear shaped cones by simply changingthe head, tubes and shields, thus eliminating the need fortwo separate machines.

The CVS Explosion proof Thermo Cycle Heater is mounted tothe CVS Explosion Proof electric centrifuge. Thethermostatically controlled heating element heats by thermalcycling action. The aluminum castings absorb the heat and, ina short period, all parts of the unit are hot. This unit uses anelectric level switch to shut down the heater in case of lowwater volume. The design of this unit eliminates the need fora separate oil sample heater.

All CVS centrifuge tubes have etched graduations for longerdurability, and are volumetrically checked using the mostmodern methods. Our centrifuge tubes are constructed toAPI/ASTM standards and are available in four styles. Ourcentrifuge shields are made of spun aluminum

The CVS Low Emission Chemical Injector Pump uses asimplex or duplex cylinder to mechanically force a plungerthrough one of several options of packing. This makes theunit a positive displacement reciprocating pump, capableof discharge pressures up to 10,000 psi (690bar). The stroke rate is controlled by adjustingthe speed control valve from 1 to 60 SPM(strokes per minute), allowing for capacitiesup to 60 gallons (230 litres) per day.

This is a low consumption unit capable ofrunning air or gas. The inlet pressureranges from a minimum of 30 psi (2.1bar) to amaximum of 145 psi (10 bar). A choice of threeplunger sizes, and controllable strokes per minute(SPM) with an optional slow speed controllerallows for a wide range in capacity, from lessthan 1 quart to 30 gallons/day. This is alightweight, reliable and rugged pump which iseasily serviced in the field.

The chemical injector comes furnished with eitherone or two fluid power heads. Each fluid headcomes with a stainless steel plunger, internal ball checks,adjustable type packing and a priming valve. Thestandard fluid end is ductile iron with stainless steel trimand plunger; all stainless steel is an available option.

The CVS gas driven Series 51 Injector uses a molded diaphragmto drive a piston through the chevron packing making it a positivedisplacement pump, capable of discharge pressures up to 6000PSIG.

A Rotary switch valve directs incoming operating gas behind thediaphragm, which causes the diaphragm to stroke forward. Thevalve shuts off the inlet pressure and opens to expel the spentgas behind the diaphragm and the cycle repeats.

A choice of three plunger sizes, two stroke lengths andcontrollable strokes per minute (SPM) with an optional slow speedcontroller allows for a wide range in capacity, from less than onequart to 30 gallons per day.

The Micro Valve unit is a miniature valve offering reliability andrugged construction. With an over center, snap action-actionoperator, the unit consists of a 3-way, 2-position valve. The unitoffers sure response, no neutral position, and no varying time lagbetween positions. The unit maintains either position withoutholding force, and cannot be vibrated or jarred out of position.

The standard fluid end is ductile iron with stainless steel trim andplunger; all stainless steel is an available option.

Applications:

• Introduction of De-Emulsifiers, Corrosion Inhibitors, De-Scaling Agents, Solvents and Oxygen Scavengers.

• Injection of Surfactant (Soap) into low-pressure gas wells with high water content.

• Methanol injection in gas pipelines.

• Water treatment

This portable hand pump of rugged design is available in both highpressure and low-pressure models. This Injection Hand Pump willquickly and effectively de-ice valves and lines with a few strokes.

Both models are mounted on a 20 litre (5 gallon) metal containerand come with a rubber core steel braided discharge hose.

Low Pressure: Discharge stroke volume of 2.29 cu. in or 37.5 ml.

High Pressure: Adjustable pressure settings of 1000, 2000 and 3000 psi., pressure relief valve a dischargestroke of .730 cu. in or 11.96 ml.

MISCELLANEOUS

This instrument has a pressure tight chamber to contain the gasor vapor sample, and inlet and outlet valves for controlling theflow. At one end, a circular clear plastic window allowsobservation of the interior and of the mirror (highly polishedstainless steel) on which the condensation of water occurs. Achiller is attached to the thermometer well which controlsexpansion of refrigerant and temperature of mirror. Athermometer whose bulb is located close to the back of themirror surface indicates the mirror temperature. A pressure gaugeis attached to the upper chamber, a tripod socket to the bottom.

The CVS Oil Thief is a simple, one spring device for takingaccurate samples of the tank, or vessel bottom. Standardfeatures include one-line, adjustable controls, hanger andreplacement valve seat.

PfÖrtner Thermometers can be used wherever precise temperature and quality isrequired. There are five models available:• Back Connected• Adjustable• Bottom Connected• General Test Pocket Thermometer• Magnetic surface thermometer All are complete with external calibrator.

All PfÖrtner Thermometers are of stainless steel construction; they are hermeticallysealed to ensure resistance against internal corrosion, moisture, and dirtyatmospheres.

Standard stem lengths available are 21⁄2", to 72" with 1⁄4" and 1⁄2" threadedconnections

Temperature ranges from –100˚F to 1000˚F (-70˚C to 550˚C), and accuracy towithin 1% of full scale range. Mercury, gas and alcohol sensing thermometersavailable for vibration and special applications.

The CVS and PfÖrtner Thermowells can be used in a varietyof different process applications where viscosity, pressure,corrosive, or abrasive materials are present. Thermowellsallow removal of the temperature instrument forreplacement, repair, or testing without contaminating theprocess media.
