PRESENT POSITION

Consultant Psychiatrist, West London Mental Health NHS Trust. Appointed 1996.Currently providing consultant care for a specialist rehabilitation unit, previously called

Treatment Resistant Schizophrenia service. In addition I provide advice on patient management in complex cases of psychosis. I provide on call consultant cover for the forensic service in Ealing. Our unit obtained an Excellent rating for AIMS accreditation by the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2015, one of only a handful of units in the country have this rating. The CQC acknowledged the service with a Good rating. I provide appraisal for a group of consultants and non training doctors in the trust.

Director of Medical Education, West London Mental Health NHS Trust. 2011-present.I am responsible for the delivery of the educational and training contract for our 125 trainee psychiatrists as well as the educational programme for the non-training grade doctors and the consultants.Head of the London Specialty School of Psychiatry, HEE London region. 2007- present.I was appointed as the first Head of the Specialist School of Psychiatry in 2007, a joint appointment at that time between the Royal College of Psychiatrists and NHS London, now HE London. This is a secondment from the trust. I am commissioner for the London psychiatric training environment of around 1000 doctors. I am responsible for the quality of psychiatric training in London and chair the quality visits to the mental health trusts in London.
