2. Summary

I hold a degree of PhD in the disciplines of Applied/Socio Linguistics, and an M.A TEFL (Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad, Pakistan) and an M.A English literature (Islamia University Bahawalpur, Pakistan), and a certificate in Teaching EFL Using the New Technologies from the Brighton University, UK. I am an author of three books as well as of a large number (27 research articles published at national and international journals) of research articles, besides being the first/second editor of the books developed at AIOU and Taif University. I have 21 years experience of teaching English as a Foreign/Second Language at the college and university levels. I designed curriculum, syllabus, and teacher development courses for different levels at AIOU. My major interest falls in these areas: ELT in Bilingualism/Multilingualism: Issues and Concerns, Error Analysis, Language Change and Shift, Teacher Development, and in the Philosophy of Language acquisition and learning, Discourse Studies, Curriculum Development and Syllabus Design. I have research experience of working on projects concerning the different aspects of the English language teaching. Besides, I am a member of SPELT and a couple of other similar learned societies.

3. Objective

My objective is to acquaint students with an in-depth knowledge of English language in order to enable them to follow their career pursuits successfully and to build a cultural

junction through a shared knowledge of this language. I believe in getting an understanding of the latest trends of teaching and learning, I make use of the modern technology blending it with recent theoretical developments in the field of Applied Linguistics. Also, I equally focus on developing the environment of moral goodness with my motto of ‘sharing and caring’. I always persuade all the faculty members and students to take part in research and community services programmes to stay positive in the societal matters, too. 4. Educational Qualification
