The purpose is to establish or expand community-learning centers that

provide students’ academic enrichment opportunities along with activities

designed to complement the students’ regular academic program.

My duties included: to supervise psychologists and social workers on the

implementation on evidence based interventions to students and their

families in order to improve the academic achievement.

2012-Present Senior Staff Scientist and Scientific Partner

Puerto Rico Evidence Based Board (PREBB)

The PREBB is a diverse group of stakeholders that are responsible for

developing and implementing an agenda to identify, establish, promote, and

disseminate evidence-based practices in areas of health promotion and

disease prevention. The CIES-DSC developed the first digital database of

evidence-based programs for substance abuse, cancer, HIV, cardiovascular

diseases, child maltreatment, home visiting/parenting and community

violence in Puerto Rico.

Duties included: facilitate and support PREBB meetings as well as provide

updated scientific literature and data regarding evidence based practices.
