We should all donate food to the needy as they are very poor. Even if you can’t affort something to the needy, we can always save up money and encorage the parents to buy at least one item for the needy. They need our help and from this statement, we should not throw away food as the needy is too poor to even buy a pack of rice. And do remember to donate food at the centeen and help the needys

CURRENT AFFAIRS’ BLOG COMMENT WINNER

Nur Liyana Afiqah binte Mohamed Isa (6/2)

On a personal level, I think that this movement is a good idea but might be not effective as well. It helps people who are poor and unable to afford a meal. What I like about this movement is that However, cynicism has encountered with the idea of the Chope campaign. People, those labeled as ‘free-loaders’ might take advantage of the kindness of others’ and instead use the money for their own purposes. Then, the campaign wouldn’t be as effective as thought it would be. Though, helping the needy and poor especially when we are well-off ourselves is a good example of harmony and a helping hand for every Singaporean. We must be willing ourselves to be able to donate money ‘freely’ to the hawkers who might take advantage of it. That is an act of a responsible and good citizen.
