Ideas to Host a Fun-Filled Curious George Event!(Here are suggestions and materials for your event. Some of the

materials mentioned below are not provided in this kit.)

Send out invitations.

Have a storyteller or a special guest such as the mayor or the fire chief read a Curious George story.

You can turn the event into a Curious George birthday event celebration. Decorate the room as you would for a

birthday event. Pre-wrap the book that will be read and unwrap it in front of the children just before reading it.Have children make birthday cards for Curious George after theyve learned how to draw him (see included.)

You might want to read Curious George Gets a Medal and make medals of your own. Provide children with card-board circles with a hole punched through, along with a ribbon or string so that they can be hung around thechilds neck. Provide glue sticks and materials for the children to decorate their medals.

Set up an easel with a large pad of paper and have a black marker on hand. Take children through the step-by-stepguide of how to draw Curious George. Then give them a copy of the guide found in the kit.

Set up an arts-and-crafts table. Provide copies of the Curious George mask (this works best on heavy stock). Copy

the coloring pages and activity sheets for the children to color and fill out. Dont forget to have lots of brown andyellow crayons and popsicle sticks!

Go to the Curious George web site www.curiousgeorge.com for other down-loadable coloring pages, activity sheets, and event ideas.

Give out goodie bags filled with the coloring sheets.
