The sides were tied at 0-1 each at the break and when they were still level with only minutes left on the clock, extra-time was loom- ing. Aoibheann Brennan was hav- ing none of that as she gathered the ball 30 metres out. Setting off on a determined run, she shrugged off several tackles and found the net from close range. It was tough on Drumphea but they contributed well to an exciting match which went right down to the wire. Cian Leonard scored an early goal and his colleagues tacked on the points. Borris had their only goal just before the break when Evan Kealy latched onto a forward pass, out- smarted the keeper and slammed the ball to the net. At 1-6 to 1-0 at the break, Rathvilly got their scare and came out with all guns blazing. They piled on the pressure, scored vital goals and were able to celebrate a fine win when the final whistle blew. Borris keeper, Aidan O’Loughlin brought off some brilliant saves, particularly in the second half. RATHVILLY were too strong in theDivision 2A final but the Borris ladsfought tooth and nail to the veryend. Cian Leonard scored an earlygoal and his colleagues tacked onthe points.

Borris had their only goal justbefore the break when Evan Kealylatched onto a forward pass, out-smarted the keeper and slammedthe ball to the net.

At 1-6 to 1-0 at the break, Rathvillygot their scare and came out with allguns blazing.

They piled on the pressure,scored vital goals and were able tocelebrate a fine win when the finalwhistle blew.
