    ... the texts in Hammam and those recorded in IbnHanbal, Bukhari and Muslim with the same isnad showalmost complete identity, except for a few omissions andinterpolations which do not affect the sense of the

    reports. On the other hand, the same ahadith as told byother transmitters in the three collections studied show arich variety of wording, again without changing themeaning of the reports

    ... I have found practically no sign of careless ordeceptive practices in the variant texts common to theSahifa of Hammam bin Munabbih.
