Element and Text Placement

Modification and Manipulation

Scales

Page 2: CTC 212 Element and Text Placement Modification and Manipulation Scales

Place More Elements

• Ellipses– by center: center, large radius, secondary radius– by edge: identify 3 points on the ellipse

• Polygons– inscribed: inside imaginary circle– circumscribed: outside imaginary circle– by edge: define # of sides and give begin/end of one side

• Lines (point curve, stream curve, multi-lines)

Modify/Manipulate

• Modify Elements– Partial delete, fillet, chamfer, trim

• Manipulate Elements– Move, copy, parallel, scale, rotate, mirror, array

• Choices (original or copy; identify fence)

Undo/Redo

• Undo

• Set Mark and Undo to Mark

• Undo all (will undo all in buffer)

• Redo (one time reversal of the undo)

Text Placement

• Text parameters (Element, Text)

• Place Text– Box 1 (origin, fitted, above, below, on, along, place note)

ScalingIn Microstation you draw full size and plot to a scale (MU per inch of paper)

But……

At a certain plot scale, how much of my drawing is going to plot?

Try drawing a border the size of a piece of a paper and then an inside border that represents margins (8.5x11 and 7x10)
