CCurb-Tec Europe is a distributor of Curb-Tec, Inc. extrusion curb machines. Curb-Tec’s CT-3000 is widely considered the best in its class.

CCurb-Tec, Inc. was established in 1999 in Florida, USA, and since then has served happy and satisfied customers in 16 countries from six continents. Curb-Tec manufactured products are the result of high-level engineering knowledge gained from experience doing work for the world’s premier hydraulic engineering company, Rexroth, and the U.S. Defense Department. This engineering experience is combined with four decades of jobsite experience in curbing.

CCurb-Tec machines are designed to solve the most common problems, minimize downtime and deliver the best final product.

Pulawska Street has many places needing new curbing… we are choosing the exact site location to do the 50 meter demo.

Looking at slightly different variations of concrete mixture at Lafarge. Plane delays due to volcano ash caused us to not receive CT-3000 from the US when originally planned… but we wanted to take advantage of as much time as possible therefore we first tested concrete mixture with its little brother, the smaller CT-900.

3

Working with Lafarge after receiving our CT-3000 to find the best concrete mixture that meets inspection standards and has good balance between stiffness and workability. We were working to get a 3 cm slump when the mixing truck arrives at the demo site.

4

Small excavator plus two men took approximately three hours to prepare site for 50 meters of extruded curbing.

5

Setting out the chalk line, and getting the CT-3000 and concrete mixing properly placed prior to the demo starting.

Unfortunately, we ran into some technical problems and decided the mixture was a little too dry to continue that day. We felt that it could have easily been used and would have only increased finishing time slightly but that it wasn’t worth it for the purpose of demonstrating to someone who could reschedule the following weekend without much inconvenience.

We believe how a company handles difficult situations is the true mark of a great company and we were highly impressed working with Lafarge Concrete in the interval to make a good mixture perfect. Their professional cooperation played a large role in ultimately swaying ZDM that our methods are beneficial in being more time-efficient and cutting costs.

8

Entire hand-finishing, edging and saw-cutting control joints every 2 meters (24 hours later) took one person no more than one hour. Control joints can also be done while concrete is still wet.

We noticed when checking a week later that despite not being fully cured until after 28 days, the curb took a few hits by cars and showed no signs of problems.

Another company finished the curb during our one-year evaluation period. They did a really nice job but notice the extra work involved with the traditional pre-cast method, which adds costs and causes the job to run 5X-10X longer. Due to needing to set the curb blocks in another curb mixture to give it a monolithic quality, the jobsite is inevitably disturbed more, which increases the time. Filling in the 3-4 cm gap between the road and curb and cutting the blocks on curves also add time and costs to the job.

11

All evaluations between June and November showed no visible damage at all.

12

The snow was so heavy we thought we lost the curb… but we found it and it still looked great and showed no signs of visible damage. A very promising beginning to the winter.

13

More winter visits… and just like we predicted, it was unscathed.

14

All of our evaluations in December and January showed us we most definitely never should have been worried about passing this test… obviously, we were thrilled with what we saw.

15

Looks like the snow and salt were no problems for Lafarge’s concrete mixture nor our Curb-Tec CT-3000 extrusion curb machine from what we saw during Feb-Apr 2011 evaluations.

We went to take a look again in May 2011 on the one-year anniversary of the demo. As can be seen from the pictures, the curb is still beautiful-looking and in perfect shape.

The work is there… the funding isn’t always though.

Utilizing a CT-3000 is 5X – 10X faster than using prefabricated blocks and reduces jobsite injuries.

Bids are too high to win those contracts? If you are looking for solutions to cut costs… not by taking shortcuts… but by doing your curbing and road-building in a much more efficient way so you can win the contracts… and better still, ensure you stay under budget… contact us and arrange a demo… WE WILL CURB YOUR COSTS!!!
