Course Overview
This one day, instructor-led seminar provides students with the knowledge and skills required to create and
modify Cascading Style Sheets CCSS).CSS is an important component of successful Web designs that implement
HTML 4.0 or XHTML standards. CSS allows you to control your colors, typography, and layout schemes, rather
than using HTML tables, style-oriented tags, and other attributes of previous versions of HTML.
Course Audience
This course is intended for those individuals who need to develop, design, and implement Cascading Style
Sheets into Web pages using the template standards of CanWest Global.
Course Prerequisites
To ensure your success, we recommend you first take the following courses or have equivalent knowledge:
• HTML 4.0 Programming: Levell or equivalent knowledge.
• Windows 98 or greater, using the Internet, experience with Netscape or Microsoft browsers or
equivalent knowledge.
Course Objectives
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
• Learn how to control color and typography.
• Create style sheets that cascade according to established guidelines.
• Design content sections using box properties.
• Learn how to control your page layouts with positioning.
• Enhance an existing design.
• Create alternate style sheets and link your pages to them, in order to enhance the accessibility and
