Community Service Learning is Lowell Catholics way of paying it
forward. We volunteer our time, charity, compassion, and/or
resources to those who may need it, and at the same time we
welcome all of those whom we help into our LC family.
Over the last 4 years I have watched Lowell Catholic grow
alongside myself, and a large part of that has been the growth
of the community service learning program. Through my eyes,
Lowell Catholic has grown not only academically but also as a
institution that prides itself on providing its students with
many opportunities to go out into the community to serveothers with compassion and zeal.
The program has taught me, personally, what compassion and
charity are. I could not be more grateful for the CSL program,
especially in the last year.

Cooked for Everyone
Although the trip was cut short, I was able tohelp around the farm and to visit with Wild
Woman. In Kentucky I was able to make
friendships that I will have for life.
I learned on this service trip to live every
moment to the fullest because we never know
when our life is going to end.

As a student at LC I have exceled not only in the classroom but as
a member of society. I have gone from being an immature 14 year
old with no idea where I wanted my life to go and become an 18
year old and my dreams are now within reach. Lowell Catholic hastaught me how to excel in every aspect of life and has prepared
me for the future. The Community Service Learning Program most
definitely had an enormous part in that.
Almost all of my volunteer hours were done working with childrenor my peers. Looking back I believe that helped me to decide that
I do want to work with kids in the future. CSL has taught me what
love and compassion are & I am a better person for it.
With such a short time left at LC, I truly believe that I am ready to
live out The Golden Rule just as Lowell Catholic has taught me to
do. I believe that I am prepared for life because of everything I
have learned at Lowell Catholic, & I do not mean academically.
