OUR MISSION
Our school is meant for deaf-mute children 2 to 17 years old,
regardless of ethnic group, religion and geography.
We help the children integrate by acquiring a profession; we adapt the
school curriculum to their special needs; we provide specific therapy
procedures.
We support deaf-mute children in public schools, and their educators.
Our school grants a safe friendly environment for deaf-mute children
to grow self-confident, robust, well-socialized and orderly.
OUR GOALS
* development of interpersonal and social communication skills
adapting curriculum to children’s understanding&learning abilities;
* early detection of, and intervention into, deafness and associated
ailments of the 0 to 6 years old; co-operating with health institutions;
* development of financing projects meant to develop schools’
specific modern technology needed for schooling and therapy;
* granting hypoaccusic children’s parents’ school, so they
may help their children’s societal integration;
* granting therapy procedures to cochleary implanted children in
public schools and specific training to their educators.
State S.C.I.E. Constantin Pufan-Timişoara enrolls:
2 to 17 years old pre-school, primary school and middle-school deaf-mute (and/or associated ailments) children in Timis County and other counties, such as Arad, Caras-Severin, Hunedoara, Mehedinti, Bihor, Constanta, Salaj…
It is a full boarding round the clock education center, structured as shown below: • pre-school: kindergarten deaf-mute and otherwise sensorially impaired children, including deaf-blind; • primary school: grades I to IV; • middle-school: grades V to VIII; • ailments accepted, some associated: blind-deafness behaviour defficiency autism social and emotional troubles retard ADHD

Projects run over 2007-2008 school year: * Gain by Giving : Compania D’Arte (organizer) and Timiş County Council (sponsor); 40 of our students enrolled in dance/music/rhythm/circus/clay artifacts workshops
run over May 25 to June 1st, 2008 period.
* Together : Timiş CC, Technical College –Timişoara and SCIE C-tin Pufan (co-organizers)
* Children’s Easter Time : Easter drawings and artifacts competition, April 1st to April 23rd, 2008; a first edition of a competition to be run in the future, open to all type special needs children.
* To Know is to Accept : inter-counties competition run over November 2007 – July 2008; competitors: SCIE C-tin Pufan - Timişoara and SCIE C-tin Pufan – Drobeta Turnu-Severin; * partnership with Light Into Europe Foundation resulted in several projects and ativities targeting
development of skills and abilities highly needed by deaf-mute children in their school/social life, for better socialization and integration thereof, for joy and better professional awareness;
* Eco-school : partnership with Leaders Association and Eco Club, both based in Timişoara; activities developed on ecology topics;
* Together, national project; activities targeting better cooperation of school – family – community; aiming at better results of deaf-mute children’s instruction, education and social inclusion; One Day Together : school festival activity of children – parents – all type expert educators.
