Chromecast is great. But there's always room for improvement. Serial media-streamer, Michael, outlines what he'd like to see

Its been almost two year since Google launched Chromecast and in that time the company has pushed out plenty of software updates to the device. The hardware itself, however, is now starting to get a little long in the tooth, even if it is just a simple streaming-dongle.

Bigger, better, faster and more powerful setups like the Amazon Fire TV Stick do more and pack in more features than Googles Chromecast. WithAndroidTV now out in the wild itd make sense for Google to include this or something similar inside the next version of Chromecast, alongside improved specs and connectivity hardware.

The stick-sized device has been on sale for a little over a year and at only 30 is one of the cheaper options for sending content from your mobile devices to your TV.

However, after the full-featured Nexus Player was announced this autumn one began to think Google might be considering replacing the Chromecast with its new digital media player in order to better compete with the likes of the Apple TV, Amazon and Roku. But then just a few weeks latermore FFC documents leakedshowing the Chromecast 2 and shortly after that Googles VP of product management Mario Queirozconfirmed that the Chromecast 2is coming.
