I could write something profound here like eloquently articulated prose, or talk about the award I won in 7th grade; but that isn’t really going to help, now is it? So let’s just cut to the chase:

I love design.And chocolate milk. But mainly design.

Some have dubbed me an Adobe warrior. It’s a humble honor.

morganI understand that layout has nothing to do with tanning.Papyrus is to MS Word as Gotham Bold is to InDesign.When I leave home without my MacBook Pro/CS5, I start to hyperventilate.Sometimes I daydream about purchasing high-end typefaces.

Setting: A man working at his cubicle when his office phone rings.

Man answers his phone: “Hey babe.”Women speaks: “Hey honey, can you grab a pizza on you home? The kids are starving.”Man replies: “Of course, should be home in 20 min.” Setting: Man walks into home, and starts to shut the door behind him and take off his jacket. As he rotates back around he see’s his whole family sitting at the dinner table all staring at him anxiously. Camera shot: the whole family starring at the father walking in.Camera shot: full body shot of the Father standing there looking at the familyMan reacts: Ohhhhhhhhh…. Yyyyeeeeaaahhhhhhhh… (with a distressed facial expression)

Over-the-shoulder camera shot: over the shoulder of the father staring at the family.

Family reaction: (Silence) Wife shaking her head in disappointment. Older son not moving his head but just has his mouth wide open. Youngest son, stares straight at his father at first, and then drops his head in disappointment. Setting: Camera fading out to blank screen.Voice Over: Let Homestead Funds help you plan ahead. Many people don’t want to admit that they need to buy glasses. They see it as a nuisance but not anything to worry about.

strategyThrough the use of humor and captalizing on the motivation that embarrassment creates, we will show the target (older men and women ages 35-55) that without glasses, more drastic things can happen in their lives.

Card sales are down. People have forgotten the importance of cards and feel that they are not worth it.Most just send a text/email instead.

Guys hate shopping. It’s a fact of life. So when it comes to shopping at Walmart—it’s all about efficiency. But, the high hopes of making a “quick” shopping run are dashed as you vainly search for an elusive item.

The No-Nonsense Shopper allows users to create a shopping list. Then depending on which Walmart store the person visits, the app uses GPS and WI-FI to download the corresponding store map. The list is then prioritized

by category and the app creates the fastest route for the shopper..

All the user has to do is follow along through the built in GPS and check off the items as they put them in their cart.

This means no more getting lost for big chunks of time and no more repeating aisles. In and out.

chorusAs an ambient media element for a BYU Men’s Chorus campaign and also to connect with the Olé! theme of the concert, a Mustache Photo Booth was placed on campus. This gave people wallking by an opportunity to sit down and have a friend take a picture of them with a mustache, suspended in the air by fishing line. They could then text or tweet their photo to @BYUMensChorus. Pictures were posted on the choir’s Facebook.

Some valuable lessons are painful. And most painful lessons are valuable. I’ve experienced both and will no doubt experience more in the future.
