NY CITY CHARTER BUS TRIP October 16-18, 2015 THEATER, DANCE CLASSES AT THE FAMOUS BROADWAY DANCE CENTER, SIGHTSEEING, AND SHOPPING !

Round trip bus fare and 2 nights lodging $350 per person The faculty at Studio for the Living Arts in Gray invites local dance studios, parents, and friends, to join them for a weekend excursion to NYC! Transportation will be provided by a chartered Custom Coach 57-passenger bus. Lodging will be at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel , 811 7th Ave 53rd St. located in Times Square. A parent must accompany their child, or with parental permission, the student may be chaperoned by another attending adult.

DANCE CLASS OPTIONS NY City is the dance capital of the world !!!!!!!

BROADWAY DANCE CENTER AND DANCE CLASSES : Classes at the studio are offered to students age 13+ off their weekly schedule. This will be a motivating and inspirational experience for any dance student who would like to expand their dance training. (taking dance classes is optional). Cost is $22 per class and you can take as few or as many as you desire over the weekend. Just before the trip we send out their schedule info. – they offer over 350 classes a week! We are registered as a group and we can pre-reserve a space in class if desired. More info. coming through our NYC group email blasts.. For a viewing of the BDC class schedule please follow this link: www.broadwaydancecenter.com For our younger dancers who are under age 13 and cannot take classes off the Broadway Dance Center schedule, they can create a private group class for us and they have one of their (amazing) faculty members teach the class, genre of our choice. Cost averages $25 student. PLEASE NOTE: with permission, there are some teachers at BDC that do allow 12 year old dancers to take the regular classes. Please inquire with me if applicable/interest. For the parents: if you don’t dance there are many classes on the Broadway Dance Center Schedule throughout the weekend for you to choose from such as zumba, yoga, pilates and more! MASTER CLASSES: We typically offer a Master Class option which is a class/classes created just for our group while we are in the city. We will update everyone once the registrations for the trip are in and we can survey interest. Options are taking a tap class with a Rockette or other NYC master teachers with genres such as contemporary, hip-hop, etc. DANCE CLASS TIMES: We aim to offer class options at Broadway Dance Center on Friday night . Most dancers sign up for one or two classes on Friday . There is everything from “heels” to ballet offered and everything in-between! Saturday morning we usually schedule a couple of optional classes so the rest of the weekend can be open for other activities if desired or dancers can choose additional classes for the day as well.

THEATER: “MATILDA” THE MUSICAL ON BROADWAY We have 40+ group tickets to see the amazing musical “Matilda” on Broadway. The performance will be Saturday evening at 8pm. The discounted group ticket fee is $119.00 per person, seating is Mezzanine 1. (Full price tickets run $150-$199 so this is a great price). One of our recent guest teachers who lives in NYC (Courtney Ortiz) just saw the show and said the dance scenes are fantastic! About the show: Matilda is the winner of 4 Tony Awards and it is full of great dancing and an excellent show for both dancers and parents. SEEING ADDITIONAL THEATER PERFORMANCES: If you wish to attend more theater performances on your own, the theater district is within walking distance from our hotel and there are many other shows both matinee and evening performances to choose from. If you’d like to see a show you can purchase discount tickets at the TKTS booth which sells last minute available tickets to select Broadway shows for 25 or 50 percent off the original price. Whether or not you plan to attend the group theater to see “Matilda”, dining at John’s Pizza with the group is an option. We always have fun at John’s. The restaurant is housed in an old church and it it’s within walking distance from our hotel and theater. Our group is seated together in the balcony overlooking the restaurant. The menu is a 3 course unlimited meal $35 per person ($26.96 meal + 8.876% tax and 18% gratuity ).
