CREATE YOUR OWN CELL MEMBRANE
Thank you for purchasing my “Creating Your Own Cell Membrane” activity. I
hope your students enjoy it just as much as mine did. For this activity your students will
color, cut, and glue in characters of the cell membrane like in the picture above. You will
have to decide if you want to use the version with cholesterol or no cholesterol.
Thank you for purchasing my curriculum. Please don’t forget to rate me. Check out
some of my other great items that I have created to use in the classroom on cells.

“BOTTOM”
2.) the phospholipids that start with the word
“TOP”
3.) the proteins that have no words
Step 4. Take the phospholipids that start with the word TOP and place them
in the outer portion of the circle BASED on the second word

This goes in the outer portion of the
circle in the CENTER

Additional Notes: I like to go back in and have my students write the words CELL
MEMBRANE, label the parts of the cell membrane, write the definition of the cell
membrane, and list key words that describe the cell membrane (like that it is a fluid
mosaic and it’s semi-permeable). That is up to you.
Function: The cell membrane regulates what enters and leaves the cell and also provides
protection and support.
