Create Profit Center Group KCH1

1. Start the transaction using the menu path Accounting > Controlling > Profit Center Accounting > Master Data > Standard Hierarch > Create or

Enter the t-code KCH1 in the command field, then hit the Enter key on your keyboard or

Click the link to the transaction in your Favorites folder .

2.0 Complete the following field on the Create Profit Center Group: Initial Screen:

Field Name Description

Profit Center Group Profit center group is a hierarchical unit that combines severalprofit centers according to certain select criteria.

This will be the uppermost group in the hierarchy.

Example: Company

3.0 Click the Enter button in the standard toolbar to go to the Create Profit Center Group: Structure screen, where you will create the structure of the profit center group.

4.0 Complete the following field on the Create Profit Center Group: Structure screen.


Description (to theright of PC Groupname)

Description of the function of the new profit center group.

Example: Widget Manufacturing Group

5.0 Perform one of the following:

If Go To

You want to create a profit center group on a lower levelStep 6

You want to create a profit center group on the same level Step 9

You want to attach profit centers to a profit center group Step 13

You have finished creating the profit center group structure Step 17



6.0 Click the Lower Level button in the application toolbar to create aprofit center group on a lower level than the uppermost profit center group.


7.0 Complete the following fields on the Create Profit Center Group: Structure screen:

8.0 Return to Step 5.



9.0 Click a lower-level profit center group to select and highlight it.

10.0 Click the Same Level button in the application toolbar to create a profitcenter group on the same level as the selected lower-level profit center group.


11.0 Complete the following fields on the Create Profit Center Group: Structure screen.

13.0 Click a profit center group to select it.

14.0 Click the Profit Center button in the application toolbar to expand thestructure tree beneath the selected profit center group so that you can add profit centers toit.


15.0 Complete the following field on the Create Profit Center Group: Structure screen.


Profit Center Profit center is an organizational unit that collects cost andrevenue data for the purpose of statistical review/analysis.

Examples: 201, 202, 203




17.0 Click the Save button in the standard toolbar to save the new profit center groupsthat you have just created.


The system displays the message "The changes have been saved" in the statusbar.
