Clean the manikin heads before you start (refer to cleaning instructions at the end of this sheet). Use only “foam manikin” AED training pads (refer to part numbers at the end of this sheet). Each manikin comes with a supply of face shield lung bags and an insertion tool. • Removeadhesivestripandfoldtabsovermouth.• Attachheadtotorso.

• Pullthepistonoutof thebottomofthechest cavity.

• Whileholdingthehead,pullthelungbag throughtheopeningintheneckbrace andlaythebagflat,centeredinthechest cavity.

• Removetheblackneck lockfromtheneck brace.• Squeezethetopofthe blacknecklockand pullupandoutofthe neckbrace.

• Withtheheadfacingdown,lineupthetwopins ontheheadwiththetwoslotsintheneckbrace. Pushthepinsuntiltheyslideintotheslotsand theheaddropsdownintoplace.

• Replacetheblack necklockinthe neckbracetohold theheadinplace.

• Feedtheinsertiontoolthroughtheneckandup sohookextendsoutofthemouth.

• Gentlypullinsertiontooluntilthebagextends outoftheneckopening.Faceshieldportion shouldcovermouth.

• Opentheinfantchest.• Gripthecollarofthe outerchestplateand lift up.

• Centerthelungbag ontopoftheinner chestplate.• Makesurethat thebagis layingflat, and there areno“kinks.”

• Placebagonfaceofmanikin.• Attachhookoftooltobottomholeonbag.

• Removeadhesivestripandfoldtabsovermouth.• Attachheadtotorso.

• Slidetheheadandlungbagintotheneckbrace.• Withtheheadfacing up,lineupthetwo pinsonthehead withtheslots intheneck brace.• Guidethe pins intothe slotsandletthe headdropdown.

• Replacetheouter chestplate.

Somesuggestionsifyouencounteranyoftheseproblems…If you cannot get the chest to rise when you blow, make sure that:• Theheadistiltedback. • Thenostrilsarecovered. • Thelungbagisproperlypositioned:itisnottwistedand islayingflatinsidethechestcavity. • Thelungbagisproperlyattachedtothehead. • Thebaghasbeenfedthroughtheneckcap. • Thebaghasnotbeentornduringassembly. • Theneckcapisinthecorrectposition(“FRONT”of neckcapshouldbelinedupwiththefrontofthehead.)

If you do not hear a click when you compress the chest of the Adult/Child Manikin:• Makesurethatyouarepressingdeepenough(youshould heartheclickwhenyoucompressthefoamaboutone thirdofitsdepth).• ChecktheAdjustableChestCompressionPistonand makesurethattheblackpinintheAgeSelectorDial ispushedallthewayovertotheAdultortheChild— dependingontheageyouarelearning.

NECK CAPBefore cleaning heads, remove neck cap:• Toremovetheneckcap,twisttheneck capcounter-clockwiselikethelidona jar(aboutaquarterofaturn).

HEADSHeads can be cleaned by the following methods:• Runthemthroughadishwasher,OR… • Washheadswithsoapandwater.Thensoak10minutes in a solution of 1⁄4cupofbleachmixedwithonegallon ofwater,OR… • Sanitizewithalcoholwipes.• Aftercleaninghead,replacetheneckcapbytwistingthe neckcapbackontothehead.Makesurethe“FRONT”of theneckcapislinedupwiththefrontofthehead.

BODIES• Thebodiescanbesafelycleanedwithableach/water solution(seedetailsunder“HEADS”section),alcohol, oranyothersanitizingagents.* *Manikinbodiesarefoambasedandarenotwaterproof. Theyshouldnotbesubmergedinwater.
