Quantifying a Fatal Accident Claim Will Be the Death of Me by Mr. Neville Sarony, Q.C., S.C., Barrister-at-Law, Pi Chambers Mr. Neville Sarony, Q.C., S.C. was called to the Bar of Gray's Inn in 1964 and obtained an LLB(Hons) degree from the London School of Economics. He was appointed Q.C. in 1992. From 1992 to 2005 he was a Recorder of the Crown Court of England & Wales. He is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nepal and was Fractional Professor of Law, City University of Hong Kong from 2004 to 2008. He is a past Chairman of the Personal Injury Committee of the Bar Council of Hong Kong, a member of the UK Personal Injury Bar Association and founder member of the Professional Negligence Bar Association of the English Bar. Mr. Sarony was a member of the Chief Justice's Special Committee on Legal Aid. He is General Editor of "Personal Injury Tables Hong Kong" now in its 3rd Edition and General Editor of "Tort Law & Practice in Hong Kong" (3rd Edition). He has been leading counsel in a wide variety of authoritative decisions involving personal injuries and medical negligence decided in the Privy Council, Hong Kong CFA and Court of Appeal, amongst which have been many cases involving claimants with profound brain damage, both in the UK and Hong Kong. Mr. Sarony was Counsel for the Defendant in the CFA decision on quantifying loss of accumulation of wealth in Lam Pak Chiu v Tsang Mei Ying [2001] 1 HKLRD 193.
