Dear Parents Another week has flown by and the staff have been very busy preparing student reports, Presentation Day awards and end of year celebrations! On behalf of the students and staff I warmly invite all families to our two Presentation Days on Tuesday 13th December at 9:30am (Primary) and Wednesday 14th December at 9:30am (Infants) and 11:30am (Primary). I am really looking forward to both these events and celebrating a wonderful year of learning at Cowra PS. At this time of year all schools are collecting data in order to write their Annual School Report. As part of this process we are required to evaluate aspects of our school policies and practices so that we know what is working really well, and which areas we may need to focus on improving. This year we will be evaluating “Satisfaction” and “Science”. Included with this week’s Newsletter are two surveys which we would appreciate you completing and returning to school by Friday 9th December. Your child is asked to place your surveys in the collection box located in the Office, so that all surveys remain anonymous. Thank you in advance for your assistance with this. On Tuesday CPS held “Bike Day”. Thanks and congratulations to Mr Albert Murray who coordinated this very successful event for all Year 4 students. Thank you also to the parents who donated their time to assist with the running of the day. Bike Safety is an important issue for all students to be aware of and I’m sure they gained valuable knowledge, learnt new skills and had lots of fun throughout the day. Scooter safety is an area of concern which several staff members have brought to my attention this week. Students are reminded that scooters are not to be ridden across pedestrian crossings, around bus lines or within the school grounds. This is for the safety of both pedestrians and riders. Parents are encouraged to discuss this with their children as well, as the last thing we want is for an accident to occur and one of our students to get badly hurt. Yesterday we held a special luncheon for our scripture teachers who generously donate their time every week to instruct our students. It was lovely to meet and chat with them at this event and hear how much they enjoy spending time at our school. On behalf of the students and staff I would like to thank them for their continued support and wish them a very Merry Christmas. Our 2016 scripture lessons concluded this week with a special combined Infants and Primary performance. Over the past few days I have been very proud to receive messages in relation to the outstanding efforts of our students and teachers. Mrs Alison Buckley from Cowra High School and Mrs Kellie Statham from Mulyan Public School both sent messages of thanks for the amazing effort Mrs Long and Mrs Cobcroft went to during the Schools Spectacular Week. I also received a phone call from Jordan Moran who is the Western Region Cricket coach in praise for the great sportsmanship and excellent behaviour shown by Mac Webster during the State Cricket Competition. Mac’s team ended up finishing in 3rd place out of 14 other teams from all over NSW, and was their best result in many years! Congratulations to all. This week classes have been venturing out into our local environment. K-3 attended the Cowra Ballet School’s production of “The Secret Life of Toys”, H123 took a walk to the Post Office to send their letters to Santa and Stage 2 are off to the river today as part of their Geography studies about our local waterways. How wonderful to have so many great learning opportunities and experiences right on our doorstep! Oh…and don’t forget to pop up to the Library this coming week – the mini Book Fair is on with lots of beautiful books and great bargains – just in time for Christmas! Dear Parents

Another week has flown by and the staff have been very busy preparing student reports,

Presentation Day awards and end of year celebrations! On behalf of the students and

staff I warmly invite all families to our two Presentation Days on Tuesday 13th December

at 9:30am (Primary) and Wednesday 14th December at 9:30am (Infants) and 11:30am

(Primary). I am really looking forward to both these events and celebrating a wonderful

year of learning at Cowra PS.

At this time of year all schools are collecting data in order to write their Annual School

Report. As part of this process we are required to evaluate aspects of our school policies

need to focus on improving. This year we will be evaluating “Satisfaction” and “Science”.

Included with this week’s Newsletter are two surveys which we would appreciate you

completing and returning to school by Friday 9th December. Your child is asked to

place your surveys in the collection box located in the Office, so that all surveys remain

On Tuesday CPS held “Bike Day”. Thanks and congratulations to Mr Albert Murray who

their time every week to instruct our students. It was lovely to meet and chat with them

at this event and hear how much they enjoy spending time at our school. On behalf of

the students and staff I would like to thank them for their continued support and wish

them a very Merry Christmas. Our 2016 scripture lessons concluded this week with a

special combined Infants and Primary performance.
