Michael Southern District Vice President & Battalion Secretary Liverpool Battalion has been elected to the committee as representative of the North West District with effect from 1st September 2020 he replaces Dr. R.C.W. Henderson MBE who stands down in accordance with the constitution after nine years service.

Members of our companies partook in VE Day Celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day – 8th May. Some members celebrated with neighbours having socially distanced parties in their own gardens or road. One Leader in the 26th Liverpool, based at St. James’ Church in Woolton, followed a wartime recipe from a cookbook to make, rather appropriately named, a ‘Woolton Pie’.

The Annual Display of the 3rd Trafford (Sevenways Methodist) has always been a major event at Stretford Grammar School attracting a good attendance and prestigious guest of honour.

Not to be deterred and adapting to the circumstances the 3rd went online with a virtual Company Display and Presentation afterwards.

Greeting were received from the Brigade President Lord Griffiths and the District President and a video message from a BB former member Carl Austin Behan OBE who serves as advisor to the Mayor of Greater Manchester.

The display included a sketch based on a Government Corona-virus Briefing.

The Awards Presentation in which the Captain saluted the relevant Boy online did a virtual handshake then passed the awards over which miraculously appeared in the Boys hand through the power of zoom.

No Captains report would be complete without reference the Summer Camp and this was covered by a montage of photographs taken during a week on the Isle of Wight.
