Terms and Conditions Please ensure terms and conditions are fully understood before lodging your entry.

The Promoter of the Country Music Contest (“the Contest”) is Ipswich City Council, (‘Council’) of 45 Roderick Street, Ipswich, Queensland (‘the Promoter’).

1. The Contest is open to all Entrants, of any age.

2. An Entrant to the Contest includes any band, soloist, duo, or trio. All Entries to the Contest must be based on country music.

3. The Contest Entrants must submit their entry on an Official Entry Form by the closing date. The final date for all entries is 4.00 pm on Friday, 12 February 2016 (“Closing date”). No entries will be accepted after the closing date.

4. The information on how to enter the Contest, forms part of the Entrant’s terms and conditions.

5. All signed entry forms for the Contest is evidence of an Entrant’s acceptance of these terms and conditions.

6. Each Entrant must complete an entry form for the Contest. The decision of the Promoter to accept or reject an entry is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

7. All Entrants completed entry forms must be sent to Ipswich City Council, PO Box 191, Ipswich QLD 4305 or scanned and emailed to [email protected].

8. Entries not made in accordance with these terms and conditions are invalid and will not be considered.

9. Entrants agree, that by participating in the Contest, they authorise the Promoter to reproduce clips and/or photographs of selected competitors, for the purpose of advertising and promoting future events by Ipswich City Council. Being a not-for-profit contest, the

Promoter’s aim is to promote, and provide exposure to each Entrant across the City of Ipswich.

10. There is no limit to the number of entries, except that each entry must be submitted separately, and a separate entry form must be completed for each entry.

11. It is the responsibility of the Entrants to report backstage thirty minutes before the elected time of their timetabled performance. A timetable will be provided to you prior to the Contest.

12. Each Entrant must ensure they do not exceed their performance time allowance. A strict 30 minute time limit applies to each Entrant (which includes setting up, performance, and dismantling from the stage).

13. Upon entering this competition all Entrants consent to publicity as determined by the Sponsors and Promoters.

14. The Promoter will provide microphones, one guitar and one bass amp, plus one drum kit and instrument. Any additional instruments and equipment must be supplied by the Entrant.

15. Any entry or Entrant that at the Promoter’s discretion is deemed to use indecent or threatening language or harassing, threatening or otherwise unlawful behaviour will immediately be disqualified. No alcohol, unlawful drugs, or cigarettes will be allowed on or in the vicinity of the stage.

16. All Entrants must only perform live music. No pre-recorded or pre-programmed music will be accepted.

17. The Judges decision will be final and no discussion will be entered into. The Judges do not provide a critique of the Entrant’s performance.

18. The winning Entrant will receive the following prizes:

a) First Prize: a CMC Rocks backstage tour and entry to the CMC Rocks event;

b) Second prize: a recording session in Studio 188; and

c) Third prize: two (2) complimentary tickets to CMC Rocks

19. All matters relating to the conduct of the Contest is totally at the discretion of the Promoters.

20. The Promoter reserves its right to amend or alter the terms and conditions at their discretion.

21. The Promoter will appoint Judges, who will select First, Second, and Third Prizes in the Contest. All decisions made in relation to the prizes will be final, and not be subject to review.

22. The Entrant (or where the entrant is a minor, then the parent or guardian) shall indemnify and release the Promoter and Council in respect of any judgement, action, or liability for all loss, damage or injury to persons or property arising from the negligence of the Entrant (or where the entrant is a minor, then the parent or guardian); or against any breach by the Entrant of any third party intellectual property rights and against any act or omission by the Entrant (or where the entry is a minor, their parent or guardian) commenced by a third party against the Promoter.

23. Words expressed in the singular in these terms and conditions also include the plural.

Ipswich City Council is collecting your personal information so that we can assess your Entry in the ‘Country Music Contest’. We will not disclose your personal information outside of Council unless we are required by law or you have given your consent. However, to enable the Council to administer, judge, and promote the Competition your personal information may be recorded and/or disclosed; for instance your name may be disclosed in a publication or at an event for the purpose of giving notice of Competition winners/entrants. By completing and signing this form and returning it to Council, we will consider that you have given us your consent to manage your personal information in the manner described in Council’s Privacy Statement, Personal Information.
