Counselling Service Promoting wellbeing and empowering individuals for a

brighter future

Key Benefits

• You can feel confident that you will have a

qualified Counsellor who is a registered

member of the British Association for

Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP)

and abide by their Code of Ethics.

• The Counsellor will create a good

therapeutic relationship, using a creative

approach, with an understanding that it is

not always easy to talk about problems and

to express feelings.

• The Counsellor will help identify the best

pathway for the client by either supporting

in resolving difficulties or helping to find

coping strategies.

Counselling offers a regular,

safe, confidential space for

staff and students to

explore any concerns they

may have.

This might include relationships,

patterns of behaviour, ways of

thinking, emotions, and feelings.

We offer termly and annual

packages tailored to meet your

school’s needs. An initial meeting

with the client will always take

place to establish whether this is a

suitable intervention for them.

communicating and some

large positive changes in

some of the behaviour.” Suffolk Primary School

After 6 sessions a review of progress is carried out

collaboratively to decide whether more sessions are

needed or whether the intervention may end.

Some individuals may not need many sessions but

for some it may take longer to work through their

issues.

The Counsellor can signpost the individual to an

appropriate service if they feel that a further

intervention may help.

For children and young people, the work will take

place in the school during term time.

For staff counselling a regular counselling

session can be offered at a time and place agreed by

the counsellor and the client.

Statistics compiled by the British Association for

Counselling and Psychotherapy indicate very high rates

of mental distress among students in general. *

Offering a counselling service helps your students cope

with the pressures of life.
