Council Meeting of the History of Science Society

A council meeting was held on Monday, Dec. 30 at the Hope Valley Country Club, Durham, North Carolina, at 4 p.m. with the following members present: Drs. CREW, TYLER, CAJORI,

WELCH, SIMONS, MAYER, invited former and new members, namely, Dr. KARPINSKI, Dr. SHRYOCK, Dr. D'IRSAY and the Secretary. Considerable business was transacted, namely, the reading of the various reports from the President, Secretary-Treasurer, Editor, and Committees. At 6 p.m. the members of the Council and invited members of the Society sat down to a most enjoyable dinner prepared in Southern style, and with rare judgment on the part of Dr. RICHARD H. SHRYOCK of Duke University.

The Officers for the year 1930 were elected as follows President. Dr. HENRY CREW, Northwestern University, Evanston,

Ill. Vice-President. Dr. WILLIAM H. WELCH, Institute of History

of Medicine, Baltimore, Md. Dr. BERTHOL.D LAUFER, Field Museum, Chicago, Ill.

Members of the Council. Dr. VICTOR ROBINSON, Medical Life, New York City. Dr. HENRY G. GALE, Dean, University of Chicago. Dr. RICHARD H. SHRYOCK, Dept. of History, Duke University. Dr. ALFRED C. LANE, Consultant, Library of Congress. Mr. GEORGE E. ROBERTS, National City Bank, New York

City. Dr. MAYER and Mr. BRASCH were reelected Recording Secretary,

and Treasurer-Corresponding Secretary respectively. The mee- ting adjourned at 8.oo o'clock in order that the members could attend the general meeting of the American Historical Association to hear the Presidential address of Dr. JAMES H. ROBINSON.
