LUNCH ACCOUNT INFORMATION
With the end of the school year fast approaching, school lunches may now only be charged if there is money available in your lunch account. Please take care of any negative balances by the last day of school. Accounts with positive balances will be carried over to next
school year. If you are a senior and want to request a balance refund, stop by the main office for a request form.

Dates may be subject to change. April 4th Capital High Foundation Scholarship Application available on CHS website. April 17th Mandatory Senior Class Meeting in the Theatre during Advisory. Exit Forms distributed. April 25th Capital High School Foundation Scholarship DUE 2:30PM. Late apps. Will not be accepted. May 1st Speeches due to Mrs. Anderson, if Seniors want to be considered as a stu-
dent graduation speaker. May 8th Exit Form Due to Counseling Center by 2:30PM. May 12th-13th Senior Survey during Senior Social Studies Classes. May 13th Caps and Gowns Distribution in the Commons during both lunches. May 16th Last possible date to turn in copies of scholarship award letters for graduation program. Distribution of Graduation Tickets in the afternoon (See below for details.) June 11th Final Notification to Seniors, who will be ineligible to walk/participate in Graduation. June 11th Baccalaureate (Time to be announced) June 11th Mandatory Graduation Practice #2 @ St. Martin’s University from 1:00-3:00 PM. June 12th Graduation at St. Martin’s University, 7:00PM. Plan on arriving by 5:45PM. There will also be bus transportation to St. Martin’s for graduates. Be at CHS @ 5:00pm for 5:30 Departure to SMU. The following documents must be submitted in order to receive graduation tickets:
Graduate Exit Form due to the Counseling Center May 8th, by 2:30PM Senior Survey Release of Graduation Tickets Checklist due on June 6th. Seniors will receive 8 tickets. If students will need more
than 8 tickets, they will have to contact other seniors who will not be using their allotted number. Graduation Participation Policy: In order to participate in Capital High School’s Commencement ceremony, Senior’s must have met all graduation course require-ments. In addition, the class of 2014 must have successfully completed the following: Pass the Reading and Writing HSPE or desig-nated alternatives; Pass a Math EOC exam or designated alternative; Pass a Culminating Project; and High School & Beyond Plan. Summer School credits may not be planned to establish the student’s eligibility to walk in the ceremony. Please note: notification of graduation status and permission to walk at the ceremony will not be granted, until 2nd semester mandatory requirements have been met. These requirements must be met by June 6th. Graduates may not wear additional items on their cap & gown during the ceremo-ny.
The entire CHS staff would like to say THANK YOU to our amazing parent organization , The
CHSPO, for the monthly Friday S.T.U.F.F. (Staff & Teachers United For Food) events they hosted for our staff this school year. The bagels, fruit, treats and coffee were always deli-cious and very well received. Thank you for creating an opportunity for the entire CHS staff to get together for conversation, collaboration and cuisine before beginning their busy day!

Freshmen, sophomores and juniors: Congressman Denny Heck will host a U.S. Service Academy Informa on Night on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Lacey City Hall. Learn the process to obtain a Congressional Nomina on to the United States Service Academies. Meet Academy Field Representa ves from West Point, the Air Force Academy, the Naval Academy, the Merchant Marine Academy and the Coast Guard Academy.
Did you know the SAT is going to change in 2016? Listen up freshmen and sophomores! Among the big changes to the new SAT’s: essays will be op onal, “SAT Words” will incorporate words commonly used in college and careers, instead of vocabulary students may not have heard, there will no longer be a penalty for choosing the wrong an-‐swer, return to the 1600 point scale. Essay score will be separate.
The Capital Founda on Scholarship applica on is now available! There is around $50,000 in scholarship monies to be awarded to Capital High School seniors! TRAFFIC SAFETY CLASS The next Traffic Safety course will run from May 13th—June 26th. In addition, there will be a summer session from July 8—August 7th. The tuition is $420 and must be submitted with the registration form. Payment can be made by check or online through the OSD website. Registration forms are available in the main office.
