How to correctly lace up your corset

First, open the front of the corset by unclasping the buskand laying it flat on a table. Loosen the strings at the backtowards the middle. Generally they will need to becompletely loosened in order to put the corset on.(Do not untie the bottom bow/knot!)

Put the corset around your body and clasp it at the centerfront. It is usually easiest to clasp the middle busk hook first, front. It is usually easiest to clasp the middle busk hook first, and then work your way up and down from there. The corsetwill still be loose around your body. (Do not attempt to claspthe corset around you without first loosening the laces, or youwill risk warping or damaging the busk studs.)

Next, tighten the corset by pulling the “bunny-ear” tails at themiddle/waist area. The first time you try on the corset, go easyon yourself, and only tie it to be fitted, but not too tight. Youon yourself, and only tie it to be fitted, but not too tight. Youwill need time to get used to wearing it, and over time it willmould to your shape with heat. After an hour or so, you cantighten it more. (And even furtherafter wearing it a few times.)

Gently work the excess string toward the waist and tie a bowat the middle. The corset will still have a gap at the back.Expect a wide gap upon first wearing, which will lessen in thefuture as you get more comfortable wearing it. Remember tofuture as you get more comfortable wearing it. Remember toonly tighten the strings from the middle. This allows for themost compression at the waist - right where we want it!

To remove the corset, simply reverse this entire process!

Please pay attention to the care labels inside your corset! If your corset is dry clean only, please do not attempt to wash it.If it is washable, you may hand wash it in warm water with mild detergent, roll in a towel to press out most of the moisture, and then lay flat to dry. Do not machine wash, bleach, or leave corsets submerged in water for more than a couple of minutes.
