Presentation Evening

Staff and students have been planning and organising segments of the Presentation Evening for some time now and everybody

is looking forward to this great event where the school and students can showcase their talents and be formally recognised for

the outstanding achievements they have achieved during the year.

The College formally invites the entire school community to this annual event and we hope to see you there on the evening.

Please note the dress code is semi-formal; T-shirts, shorts and thongs are not considered semi-formal attire. Staff and our gradu-

ating Year 12 students will set the tone for the evening and we hope that all participants can also comply for this one very spe-

cial evening.

Proceedings start at 7pm on Wednesday 16th December and should be finished at 9.00pm.

Pupil-free Days 2016

The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) have informed all schools that in 2016 there will be

four allocated pupil-free days. The College has provisionally determined these to be;

The first day of Term 1 (Wednesday 27th January 2016). Therefore the school year for students starts on Thursday 28th Jan-

uary 2016 and,

Tuesday 15th March; the day after Labour Day

Friday 3rd June; the Friday before the Queen’s Birthday

Monday 31st October; the day before the Melbourne Cup holiday,

These pupil-free days will be used for professional development, school planning and administration, curriculum development

and planning, student assessment and reporting. Details of which will be published in KIT as soon as planning for these days is

completed. In the meantime can I ask parents to note these days in their diary/calendar and make the appropriate arrangements

for the supervision of their children.

School Charges

School Council noted during its meeting on Monday 7th December that a number of families have yet to settle their account for

School Charges. School Council relies on these charges in order to provide the quality of facilities and programs enjoyed by our

students.

This year we have purchased new furniture for Room C5 at a cost of $4,800, the whole School Learning Management System

which is being used on a daily basis by all staff and many students ($4,000), new blinds for every classroom at the junior cam-

pus, new blinds for most classrooms in A-Block ($10,000), cutting equipment for the Trade Training centre ($2,000), iPads for

the junior campus ($9,000), and we allocated over $5,000 towards other funds to purchase more literacy resources, the installa-

tion of further reverse cycle air conditioners, and further funding is going to be directed towards the refurbishment of the senior

library in 2016

These sorts of improvements that benefit the educational outcomes of our children are not possible through the budget provided

to the school from the Department alone. School charges significantly contribute to these purchases and improvements. A bonus

is the production of the College Magazine, and if last year’s edition is anything to go by, this year should be bigger and better.

Don’t miss out because you have forgotten to settle your charges.

Parents who have outstanding charges are asked to make arrangements, as soon as possible, for payment at the College Office.

Parents’ cooperation is appreciated. If you would like to make progressive payments, please contact the College Office to make

arrangements.
