Project SHAKTI serves over 1,35,000 villages across 15 states through more than 45,000 entrepreneurs.

they aim to have 75000 SHAKTI AMMAS by the end of 2015

With the success of SHAKTI AMMAS ,a new concept of SHAKTI MAN is being introduced .the SHAKTIMAAN are mainly their family member. They will follow the same model

India has highest number of child death from pneumonia and diarrhoea

More than 6,00,000 children dying each year before their 5th birthday

Hand washing with soap, particularly after using toilet, can reduce diarrhoeal diseases by over 40% and respiratory infections by 30%

The ‘Help a Child Reach 5’ hand washing campaign started in 2013 in Thesgora in Madhya Pradesh

The aim of the campaign was to encourage hand washing with soap at 5 key occasions in order to help every child reach five and improve the lives of all villagers

Launched a film “Lifebuoy Tree of Life” in 2014 to support the initiative

IMPACT The successful pilot in Madhya Pradesh in 2013 led to an

addition of six more villages from Chhindwara district in Madhya Pradesh under the programme

In 2014 they piloted the programme in two districts of Bihar – Begusarai and Khagaria, reaching out to nearly 1 million people

In 2014, reached out to more than 3 million people through Urban School Contact programme to promote hand washing behaviour change

SANJIVANI Promoting preventive healthcare

HUL runs a free mobile medical service camp -- Sanjivani -- near its Doom Dooma Factory in ASSAM

aim is to provide free mobile medical facility in the interior villages of Assam

to provide healthcare in far and remote areas where basic medical facility is not available through our mobile medical service camps and thereby help a large number of the population

REVIVING RAIN-WATER SYSTEMS Partnered with DHAN foundation in 2010 in Tamil Nadu

Serving a population in the excess of 1,50,000 across 70 villages in Madurai, Ramanad etc

Capacity to conserve 11.3 billion litres of water increased crop production additional net income for farmers

Project along similar lines in Maharashtra

574 million litres of rainwater to be harvested additional 287 acres to be brought under irrigation increased crop productivity by 50%

sanitation, of which, 597 million people continue to defecate in the open

ASHA DAAN AND ANKUR

In 1976, HUL supported Mother Teresa and the Missionaries of Charity to set up Asha Daan, a 72,500 square feet plot in Mumbai.

Ankur, set up in 1993, is a center for special education for challenged children at the Doom Dooma in Assam.
