1. Daffodil DB

Daffodil DB is SQL-99 and JDBC 3.0 standards compliant Java relational database

management software. It helps build comprehensive, efficient and powerful relational

database applications in Java. It is the most cost-effective and feature-rich Java

Project Overview: A web based ERP developed for Power Distribution Company which is in use

by many state governments and big private sector Power Distribution Company with millions of

customers. The ERP is used to manage the information related to every aspect of power

transmission and distribution in the Power Distribution Company. It automates all the functions

of a power distribution management utility ranging from asset management to billing. The

modules covered in the project are Mapping & GIS, Distribution Network, Asset Management,

Consumer Indexing and Connection Management, Meter management, Energy Auditing, Asset

Maintenance and CRM.

2. PublicBooks

Technologies: Java/J2EE, Struts 1.1, Hibernate 3.1, Session Beans, JSP, Servlet, Oracle10g,

Project Overview: PublicBooks is a ERP Project which is basically being developed for

managing the different operations of the Govt. This Project consists of various modules like

Procurement Module, Consumable Inventory Module, Tender Management, Fixed Asset Module,

HR and Accounts payable/receivable.

Procurement Module manages all the Purchase Requisitions for any Item in any Department

and then quoting the Tenders for the same and generating the Purchase Order and managing

the Suppliers and all the Delivery and Invoicing of the quoted item after generating the Purchase

Order and receiving them accordingly.

Fixed Assets Module manages all the Fixed Assets in the Departments of the Govt. and

applying the Amortization and Appreciation of the Fixed Assets if there is any. And calculating

them by providing the defined method for the Fixed Asset and transferring the balance amount

to the Accounts department.

Consumable Inventory Module manages all the Inventory and Stores for receiving the Items

quoted in Procurement Module and then managing them in different stores of the Department

inter-city or in different city. It also manages all the Losses and Damages of the goods in Stores

and their Re-order level and minimum, maximum thresholds.

Framework manages the declarative way of defining the UIs. Here we can declare the field

level metadata for a form using XML which further used to generate the UI at runtime.

3. Point of Sale Application

Technologies: Java, Swings, Hibernate, Xdoclet, JINI, Firebird SQL, Quartz, Glazed-lists, M4u,

Jasper Reports (IReport 2.4), Ant Build Tool

Project Overview: It is a point of sale application to be used in super markets on shop

terminals. Basically it is divided in three parts POS, BackOffice and Server. POS application runs

on each terminal used to do the sale. BackOffice is for administration purpose used to track the

progress of all contacts, user accounts, access roles and inventory control. Server contains the

business logic and is used to do all transactions by interacting with database. It is basically a

service to be used by other applications over the network for performing any transactions. Point

of sale implements features of job scheduling, job queuing, automatically Back office report

generating and sending to responsible authorities, dynamic searching, SMS sending and plug-in

creation.

GWT:

1. Home Automation Application

Technologies: GWT, SmartGWT, XML, DOM Parser, JDBC, MySQL

Project Description: We have a home automation application developed for Android and

iPhone. The software can be configured with an xml file. The purpose of the application is that

the user can easily make the configuration without knowledge of XML file. The application will

generate the xml file and save to the server. The xml file will be downloaded automatically by

the device if the xml file exists on server. Each device has an unique id. 1 device id = 1 xml file.

The user can have more devices. The user can create devices, modify and delete. A brief of the

functionality is mentioned below:

User logs into the system

User creates a new installation project. Each installation can have many rooms (floors or

labs or halls).

User adds a room and then he adds what type of equipment is used in this room, their

position and what operations can be done on this device (dimming to a certain level, off,

on, reboot etc.)

Within a room there can be other rooms for e.g. Floor has many labs.

Each room has a number of electric installations.

When all data is saved the user generates an XML file which is specific to this project.

This file is then used to make an app for iPhone/Android of end user‟s company.

2. Report Management Application

Technologies: GWT, GXT, MySQL and Hibernate

Project Description: This application is used as a reporting application which gives the user a

default report view of MySQL database. The application has a login authentication to enter the

system. After the user is authenticated in the system, a default view is displayed in grid to that

user if no other view exists for that user. Now user can make changes in view as reordering of

columns, grouping of data and hiding and sorting of columns and can save views as well. User

can also apply filter on data and save any number of filters. User can change any view or filter

from menu options provided to him. The main thing in this application is that this sorting,

grouping, filtering of information is stored in database and restored in grid when he logs in or

changes views or filters.

Project Overview: Document Management System (DMS) is a web application developed for a

particular business that works in a project-centric way. It is based on established nth tier object

orientated architecture utilizing browser technology as the presentation layer, ASP.NET, and

MSSQL 2K or above for process logic and storage respectively. The system comprises a number

of key features, such as Check-in, Check-out (CICO), Access control, Versioning, Issuing,

Auditing, and Searching (both META data and Indexed document content. These features are

used to process documents in a controlled stable environment.

The DMS system is designed to be scalable, fault tolerant, and have the ability to isolate and

load balance the key components across multiple servers. It manages physical files using

conventional file storage methods instead of database BLOB field storage, hence reducing the

risk of single component failure and minimizes the recovery time.

2. Financial Planning Software

Project Overview: It is a web based application to provide the financial industry and financial

planning license holding groups, with a web based product that can help them in compliance

management & reporting, cash flow modeling, risk profiling and asset allocation. The aim was to

deliver the financial planning groups with the best and holistic financial planning, research and

portfolio valuation reporting platform.

The solution delivered by Daffodil included the following features:

3. Inspection Reporting and Information System (IRIS)

Technologies: NET 2.0, C#, .NET Compact framework, Pocket PC 2003 SE emulator, SQL

Server Mobile Edition

Project Overview: IRIS is used to inspect/appraise vehicles, using a handheld device (e.g. HP

IPAQ) taking the place of handwritten forms. This eliminates the need to physically submit the

forms to the head office and re-key or encode the data. The information of the inspection is

either generated on the handheld, or comes from a server (using LAN or Internet connection).

Information entered on the handheld will at some point can be sent back to the server. The

exchange of information is done via the FTP-protocol, using XML-files.

SharePoint Technology

1. Claim Management System (Ops Log Task Creation)

Technologies: Sharepoint2007, .Net, Visual Studio 2005, SQL Server 2005

Project Overview: The goal of this application is to provide a less intrusive process to manage

the various Vendor related tasks by the Customer Security staff. As such, the focus of this

solution is to minimize the amount of touch-points required to assign and manage Vendor

tasking.

The system was designed to automate this process, allowing the system to create tasks that can

be assigned to vendors inside the system. The vendor will then be able to log into the system

and update and track their progress in resolving the issue. Once the vendor completes their

work, the Customer staff will be notified and be required to approve the work. Once the work is

approved, the task is closed and the system automatically closes corresponding Ops Log record

that created the initial task.

Description: This software was developed to help organization manage resources while trying

to create and/or deliver a product that will be beneficial to customers. And regardless of how

good your offering is, or how many precautions you take, customers can still run into the

occasional problem or have questions. The incident management software can help your

customer relations team respond quickly and concisely to customer inquiries, ensuring that your

customers are taken care of. In a time of global markets and ultra-competitive business models,

an incident management system that includes powerful, intuitive incident management software isn't an option, it's a necessity.

This tool was developed where in his customers can log in the issues and incidents that they

might face and ticket is generated against that reported issue. This ticket is picked up by a

Manager and is assigned to a concerned representative who looks into it and resolves it. And

then marks the issue resolved. Once this is done the client receives a notification about the

same.

This tool helps a quick response time and internal transparency for every step in the incident

management process, including feedback ensures customer satisfaction, while simultaneously

allowing your organization to reduce contact center costs.

Tracking Customer Contact - When your customer calls with a problem, having to repeat

that problem to multiple customer service representatives is not good incident management.

This tool allows you to capture important information from each customer interaction so that

Project Overview: This is an online Mortgage Portal targeting the Canadian market. Main

motive of the website is to sell mortgages, homes, insurance, etc. through a online website and

offer discounts based on volume of purchases. It has some simple financial tools and an online

application form.

It is very user friendly and makes life easier through access to mortgage calculators, home

maintenance schedules, mortgage renewal reminders, Blogs from home-buyers going through

the process, videos, online chat with experts, monthly home deals and first time home-buyer

seminars.

Core Modules:

Users (Customers): Users start with applying for pre-approval application and then become

members of the site. Members have access to all the services provided by portal. Their

application is forwarded to vendors to quote on their requirements. The Portal is having its own

team to cross check their application and provides answers to all the queries.

Agents/Vendors: Portal team will assign a vendor/agent to each client by matching their

requirements. The agent will send all property listings and other details to the client so that

customers do not have to invest their time and energy to find what they want.

Realtor: Interested people can register themselves as Realtor and then post the details of their

properties. Their properties will be listed on the portal after approval from administrator. They

can also upload various images of their property.

Home Sales: This section displays the list of properties. Slide show of different properties is

available in this section with detailed description. These properties can also be seen on Google

Map.

Agency: This is one of the most advanced features being implemented in this portal. Agencies

are created for Real estate agents. Small website is launched for each agency in a particular

region. Through these agencies agents are able to create customers in a more effective way by

displaying all their details on the website. Customers can browse through the Agency site and

avail services provided by Agency. It gives a feel to Agency that they have their own sites where

they can manage all their agents and customers.

2. Media Industry Web Portal

Project Description: The website is developed for listing different movies, festivals, artists,

publications etc. The content types are created from admin and customized to create

relationship between different content types. Search module is used to search around the

site. Also calendar functionality is there to show the movies, festivals and performances on a

Project Description: The website was developed to maintain the details related to books. It

has different entities as Books, categories, collections, authors, Editions. We used flutter plug-in

to create different entities and microkid plugin to related different entities with each other in

admin. In frontend we create new theme and also create pages for showing book details, author

details, collection etc. It also contains auto-search to search according the letter you type. We

have also created Database migration script to transfer old data into new site.

4. Shutter Sport

Technology: Drupal, HTML, CSS

Project Overview: It is a portal developed for sport & recreational activities in Nelson region of

New Zealand which has a photo gallery section corresponding to various sport categories. The

site permits a user to select & purchase a particular photo after browsing through the gallery.

The site provide features of information service, events calendar, sport results, ability to sell

advertising panels on site and through Google ads, Membership, forums, member posts,

member database & sports news section.

Mobile Application Development

Few Android Projects:

1. Android Advertisement Project

Description: This application reflects the concept of mass-mobile advertising to mobile phone

users and by means of a mobile phone application associated with a website which implements

the same. The mobile application delivers 3G advertisements (text, images and videos) and

specific information to mobile phone devices and mobile navigator devices. The content

delivered to the handset is user specific and depends up on what user has asked for. In the

application user can search the advertisements in a specific location by entering some keyword

or category also user can view the search output on Google map and redeem the offer available

with it. The application is integrated with a device and based on few parameters like location,

age, sex and time will search for the business that has available discount, advertisements or simply just information and also tracks the user‟s location via the mobile network‟s GPS locator.

2. Android Classifieds Project

Description: This application is developed around a famous classified portal, bringing down the

ads to the android phone. It features a clean interface and intuitive navigations and starts with a

fields. The result can be viewed in list or grid view inclusive of picture of the product, details

around the product and contact details of the owner. The results are real time and one can save

start assessing and determining the recovery score. The data is useful in deciding how hard to

train each day. Results show how much one‟s body has improved and the detailed chart shows

how the athlete is recovering over the days.

1. Project Name: iPhone Bird Book Project

Description: The application‟s primary audience is the „bird watchers‟. The application has

databank of most information related with birds and register sightings of birds. It‟s an iPhone OS

3.0+ compatible application. A bird can be sorted in fields like: Geography, Family Tree, Look a

likes, description, photograph and sound. User can log in the application and pick his/her

favorites, also tag the recent spotting and directly upload them in facebook and other popular

platforms. Application is connected with a server to accumulate all data which is accessible by

every user.

2. Project Name: iPhone Postage Application

Description: The application enables user to find information related with red boxes, POS, zip

codes and cities. Daffodil developed a postage calculator which empowers the user with a simple

and quick way to calculate the national postage for letters/postcards. The application is based on

API calls. Also the map is integrated so that one can locate the nearest postage office and the

driving route. The calculator functions based upon the available JSON files and the application is

enabled with multiple languages like English, French and Dutch.

Description: CNS - Congress of Neurological Surgeons was celebrating their 60th Anniversary

Description: BlackBerry CCTV Application is an operation and alarm verification, CCTV

remote control of PTZ (Point, Tilt, Zoom) for dome cameras and relays. Daffodil utilized effective

picture compression (HT Compress), to achieve high frame rates, even at low bandwidths.

Description: The project is a utility application aimed at time registration and data

synchronization, to exchange data between company‟s server and the mobile device to calculate

the usage and mileage of the company‟s transportation vehicles.

The application knows for which user time and mileage information should be registered and

also identifies the user even before the user start using the application.

The information is then sent to company‟s server. When a cycle of data collection is completed,

the time registration information and the mileage information are synchronized. The Time

registration history is maintained for a week, a month and last 4 months.

This application works both in online & offline mode & supports Dutch and English languages.

Description: This application reflects the concept of mass-mobile advertising to mobile phone

specific information to mobile phone devices and mobile navigator devices. The content

delivered to the handset is user specific and depends up on what user has asked for. In the

application user can search the advertisements in a specific location by entering some keyword

or category also user can view the search output on Google map and redeem the offer available

with it. The application is integrated with a device and based on few parameters like location,

age, sex and time will search for the business that has available discount, advertisements or

simply just information and also tracks the user‟s location via the mobile network‟s GPS locator.

2. Performance Monitoring Application

windows Mobile 6.0. The communication types implemented are Serial Communication with Com

Ports. We have also assisted the client to upgrade the application to .NET environment.
