Retail Solutions

TOGETHER COMMERCE is Toshiba’s vision for retail consum-er engagement. It captures both the changing face of global retail and the way Toshiba is helping retailers adapt their strat-egies, their stores and their technology to support a seamless, more customer centric shopping experience.

Customers can and will engage with retailers across multiple channels ‒ and they expect a seamless and natural experience whether they’re online, on their Smartphone or in the store.

TOGETHER COMMERCE is all about delivering this seamless participatory experience. It’s about a shift from “selling” to “buying.” It’s about providing a platform where in-store inter-actions are as natural and fl uid as consumers expect online.

It’s about the retailer and customer working together, learning together and benefi ting together.

While keeping the top position in POS systems, the Company is devoting itself to developing the world’s fi rst next-generation technology to advance MFP.

The world’s fi rst high-performance electronic cash register equipped with a microcomputer chip led the subsequent technological innovation in this fi eld, and played an important role in developing the present-day POS market.

2013Developed Loops, a paper reuse systemDeveloping an object image recognition scanner

1973Developed an electronic cash register equipped with a microcomputer

The world’s fi rst four-beam laser scanning optical system for color printing, using a unique free-formed surface plastic lens.

This horizontal reading system, the fi rst in the industry, eliminated the work of turning products over and pasting barcode labels on the back of each product, becoming a de facto standard for subsequent models.

This fusing device, developed for the fi rst time in the world using IH technology, was installed in a monochrome MFP, shortening the time for recovery from sleep mode and reducing power consumption.
