The golf tournament illustrated above provides funds that assist residents ecumenically in thegreater Corinth/Lake Luzerne/Hadley area when they experience financial difficulties throughoutthe year (and as long as funds last). Since last Juneʼs tournament, 35 individuals and/or familieshave received help with expenses of all types, totaling over $8,000. (See CCF summary below.)he Community Crisis Fund (CCF) collaborates with Corinthʼs Council of Churches and its “Sharethe Warmth” program whenever possible; with Catholic Charities; and other community-based or-ganizations. This collaboration helps extend each organizationʼs limited financial resources. TheCCF is one of three charities sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. The other two being “CoatsFor Kids” and an annual academic scholarship.Prior to each yearʼs tournament, donations are solicited ecumenically from area merchants andbusinesses of all types. We also solicit contributions from golf courses located in the SouthernAdirondack region. A Knights of Columbus Charity - COMMUNITY CRISIS FUND - A Brief Summary: 2005-2015Prior to the founding of the COMMUNITY CRISIS FUND (CCF), a committee of parishioners fromthe then Immaculate Conception Church of Corinth, conducted golf tournaments to raise moneyfor new construction and other needs. These took place from 2005-2009. In 2009, the Corinthchurch joined with Lake Luzerneʼs Holy Infancy Church to become the Holy Mother and ChildParish. The golf tournaments continued; however, a new priority was established for the use of thenet proceeds. There would be financial assistance to individuals and families living within the gen-eral Corinth/Hadley/Lake Luzerne area. This new priority led to the creation of the Community CrisisFund in 2010. The one guiding principle for the CCF was that it be administered in an ecumenicalmanner.After the 2010 tournament, the Knights of Columbus, Council 3271, formerly joined as co-sponsorsof the CCF and associated golf tournaments. Outlined below is data for the tournaments and CCFfrom 2010-2015. Note that our year begins in July and ends in June; because the tournaments areconducted in June. Therefore net proceeds are not available for assists until July.
