Publications: I have been publishing my work professionally since 2003. My interviews, articles and poetry have appeared in the following publications: Southwest Colorado Arts Perspective; Edible San Juan Mountains; The Durango Telegraph; Images; On the Wings of Poetry; The Four Corners Business Journal; Eternal Portraits; New Witch; Sage Woman; Voice Be Heard; and more. I have contributed to Chuck Sambuchino’s Writers’ Digest “Guide to Literary Agents” blog, seen online at- http://www.writersdigest.com/author/chuck-sambuchino. My work has also been featured online at- www.creativity-portal.com and www.ediblesanjuanmountains.com.
Exhibitions: My visual art has been shown locally and online. I have exhibited my art at Maria’s Bookshop, Namaste Health Center, Fort Lewis College, The Steaming Bean, Moe’s Starlight Lounge, the Durango Recreation Center Art Hall and the Dolores Public Lands office.
Community: I give generously of my time and creative energy to non-profits and other charity organizations. Most recently, I volunteered my time each month to facilitate Wild Women Writing, a writers’ group sponsored by the Durango Women’s Resource Center. In the past, I have also spoken at fundraising events and offered creative writing and arts workshops for WomenFest and the WRC’s Girls to Women, Women to Girls conference. I am a proud supporter of Habitat for Humanity, and recently donated artwork in support of a silent auction to benefit their organization. I have also donated time and creative energy to support National Eating Disorder Awareness Week, Leadership La Plata, Sexual Assault Services Organization, and many other worthy causes.
I worked as the Program Coordinator for the Mancos State Park Guest Artist Program for several years, and was an integral part of the creation of that program, donating my time to teach arts workshops in the park and creating work for their permanent collection. I have worked with countless other non-profit organizations, including: The Durango Discovery Museum, La Plata County Humane Society, SJMA, Adaptive Sports Association, Department of Wildlife, Durango Arts Center, Durango Women’s Resource Center, SASO, Del Alma, Study Connections, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and many others.
