As a team, we worked hard to develop a combination of juices that are easy to make in the home kitchen ANDdelivers a variety of health benefits to get your day started on the right foot.

We also weighed up factors such as the availability of ingredients with the positive health benefits that weredelivered by consuming the juices. NOTE: where ingredients may be hard to source we have provided equallygood substitutes or online resources.

We have also tried to include a range of fruit and vegetables in the power shot series so that anyone can usethe recipes, no matter what their ailments. At Recipe Depository we aim for complete all round wellness.

How to Use the Recipes

INTRODUCTION

The idea behind the ‘Power Shot Series’ is that you can choose to rotate the juice shots each day. This way youare not over doing it on any one ingredient and you are maximizing the nutritional benefits you receive from thefruit and vegetables.

With some of the juicing recipes you will notice a few regular ingredients repeating. If you are short in time youcan try to juice the one ingredient in bulk and save some for the next day’s Power Shot. This means less time toprepare and less cleaning up!

Benefits of Apple

With apples comprising just under 90% water it is not hard to see that one primary benefit of including applesin your juice is hydration.

One down side to juicing apples is you lose a lot of the fibre that it contains. Fibre is a necessary ingredient forthe maintenance of a healthy digestive system. One way to overcome this negative is to blend your apples(instead of juicing) and then combining the blended up apples with your juice. Although this adds to morecleaning up, at least this way you are receiving the best of both worlds.

Blending Instructions

Beets and Berries - A winning combination

1. Begin the blending process on a slow speed. After 10 seconds slowly increase the speed incrementallyuntil you achieve desired texture.

Ingredients

1. Feed all prepared ingredients into the juicer/blender and enjoy.

 1 medium Beetroot chopped (skinned if blending) 1/2 cup Raspberries washed 3/4 cup Strawberries if you don't like it as sweet you can reduce to 1/2 cup 1/2 cup chilled filtered water can add more ice if you want a slushie texture

1. When you are juicing it is good to alternate hard ingredients with softer ingredients. This way you willachieve optimal juice extraction and avoid juice loss in the wastage.

Ingredients

Simply chop the fruit and vegetables into juicing size portions so it can be easily fed into your juicer of choice.

 Ginger - as I mentioned earlier, I am a ginger lover! so the amount that I have suggested in this recipemay be a little bit on the strong side for people starting out with juicing. Feel free to adjust to half thesuggested portion size for a slight zing Juicing - I highly recommend using a juicer for this juice. Using a blender will leave the woody elementsfrom the ginger and turmeric which can be a turn off for some people when consuming Switch it up! If you want to substitute the apple for other sweet ingredients go for it! We alwaysencourage experimenting with the flavors

Many just go for the traditional Carrot Apple Ginger combination, but I like to throw in a splash of turmeric togive me an extra kick of immunity.

Carrot, Apple, Ginger and Turmeric Juice

 1 inch Fresh Ginger approximately a thumb thickness 1/2 inch Fresh Turmeric (can substitute with Turmeric Extract or Turmeric powder) 3 large Carrots chopped 1 large Apple (try to go for a sweet variety for this is the sweet element in the juice)

Lemon Ginger Turmeric Drink ShotsPerfect little shot of goodness to give your body a shot of immunity and keep the blood moving.

Servings: 2 shots Calories: 113 k cal

Equipment Juicer (or blender) Knife and chopping board

Ingredients 1 small Orange variety of your choice 2 small Lemons can choose to add more for tartness 1/4 cup Sliced up Turmeric skin on optional 1/4 cup Sliced up Ginger skin on optional 1 pinch black pepper to taste 1/4 tsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil (optional)

Instructions1. Leaving skin on is probably ideal as it means less prep time and won't make a difference to the taste or

texture of your juice. Simply feed the turmeric, ginger, lemon and orange through the machine for a tastyhealthy wellness shot. Add olive oil and mix vigorously to emulsify. Add pepper at the end to taste.

2. Blending - Entirely your choice if you want the skin on. It may produce a more thicker texture as an endresult. We suggest blending the turmeric and ginger first. Then add in juice from the lemons andoranges, olive oil and blitz once more for a smooth consistency. Add pepper at the end to taste.

3. If the mixture is too thick simply add some water to loosen the mixture until you achieve the desiredconsistency.

4. The shot should be consumed immediately to receive all the goodness and nutrients. Try it over ice on awarm summer's day.

Recipe Notes - Turmeric Greens Health Kick Juice

My Turmeric Greens Health Kick JuiceThis health kick juice is great for a recovery drink from a binge session of eating your naughty foods and drinks.If I feel any signs of inflammation or swollen joints I immediately whip this up to bring balance to my body.

 Ginger - I am a ginger lover! so I actually double the amount of this recipe for a nice heat in my juice. Sweet or Tart - I mentioned earlier you can substitute the orange out for a lemon for adjust the sweetversus tart flavor profile. Or include both - why not enjoy the benefits of both? 

Servings: 2 small glasses Calories: 120 k cal

Equipment Juicer (or blender) Chopping Board Sharp Knife

Ingredients 1/2 Glass Filtered Water preferably chilled 1/2 Long Cucumber approx 4 - 5 inches 1 Inch Fresh Turmeric Root - can be substituted with turmeric extract or ground 1 Inch Fresh Ginger Root with a thickness of your thumb 1 whole Orange peeled and segmented 1 pinch Freshly Ground Pepper preferably black

I have to say this is ONE OF THE BEST tasting green juices I have made. It has all the necessary ingredients togive you the right start to any day!

Instructions1. Ok - so there isn't any real skill involved here. Chop your fruit and veg so that it can easily be fed into your

juicer. Make sure all ingredients are well washed and enjoy your freshly squeezed juice!
